changing injector o rings?

hey guys,  ever since ive had my trx u12 the injectors have leaked.  The car has a reciept for an injector cleaning 2 years back so i guess they didnt replace them correctly.  has anyone here replaced them and can guide me through the process of what needs to be removed and parts i will need to fix this as its getting worse and i dont want an engine bay fire with  a 4yr old in the car.

if you got leaky injector's, your probably better buying new ones.
i remember after cleaning and replacing the rings in my injectors, that they dripped fuel even when the car was off.

I'm running Bosch injectors in my Ti.
bosch injector for KA24E, is part number 1660062056

shit......  so you replaced insulators top and bottom and the o rings and they still leaked?  rang nissan and got the price for the parts all up is $120 for the two insulators and 0 ring.  so second question how much apporximatley for the injectors?  having never bought injectors before they dont happen to come with the o ring and insulators at all do they? only one injector is bad leaking from the top and bottom.  doesnt drip stationary but when you get out of the car you can smell fuel and if you pop the bonnet there is evidence of the fuel that has come out.  i found my u12 manual and the installation process seems pretty straight forward.

ok just found this.  it seems there may be a problem with the factory injectors that cause this.  seems the injectors will have to be replaced.

they cost me 170 each...

if you dont want to spend that much, theres a company called as-new, which sell reconditioned and new injectors (they only sell new ones for the ka24e).
they sell them at 149 each, and their part number is AZN-150-1.

thats better than what motor traders quoted me.  $236 each plus tax.  thermostat  $23.40.   o2 sensor $65.  ecu temp sensor $43.  i enquired about these as from what im reading in other threads when you have bad fuel consumption these are all something to look at so seems wise to fix everything and see how we go.

what about the injectors from injectors online?  anyone had any positive or negative feedback on these?  there aparently genuine bosch at a really cheap price.  just not sure on which ones i need.  from what i remember ka24e injectors are 230cc?

just found them on the site there $110 each genuine bosch.  260cc.  they dont show impedence but they say there for the ka24 motor as they are prone to leaking and need to be thrown out when they leak externally.

next question as only 1 is leaking bad and 1 a little but the other two fine.  would anyone recomend just replacing the 2 and fitting all new rings and insulators to the set of 4?

Ah leaking injectors!

Yes, the KA24E injectors stuff up and leak externally from where the top plastic (with the plug that attaches to loom) section connects to the metal body of the injector itself.

This is not repairable, well, certainly not worth trying.  I was told my the most helpfull man in the world at Rally Carbs that its caused by many short warm-up cool-down cycles and as opposed to alot of sustained driving (highway, etc).

Three out of four were leaking like this in my Pintara TRX.  I replaced them all with four from a Pintara Ti wreck I had bought, after they were tested throughly infront of my eyes and had new rubber O rings put on them by the fella at Rally Carbs.  Cost $10... :D

Fitted them, one started leaking like crazy.  Re-fitted them again, they were all perfect... and they have been perfect for 7,000km now :)

If you can get to a wreckers check on the intake manifold on some KA24E cars and see if there is evidence of them leaking.  Intake manifold may be a browny/red colour where the fuel has stained it.  The rail and injectors is VERY easy to remove on the KA24E.

Yes the injectors and seals are very easy to replace. I know that i had to replace my bottom seals and it cost me $27 from Nissan. Took me 15 minutes before work to replace them. Good luck with fixing them mate.

got the injectors yesterday from grandauto nissan in lonsdale.  tried both u-pullit's with no luck.  all ca-20 motors.  will have it fixed soon.  nissan want $120 or the complete set of 0 rings and insulators which is pretty expensive.  havent found them cheaper yet.  paid $90 for the injectors.

ok job done.  points to be made when changing injectors and replacing o rings.  you do not need to disconnect any fuel lines. remove the fuel pump fuse and start the car to release the pressure in the fuel line(VERY IMPORTANT).
 just remove the accelarator cable bracket. 
then disconnect the wiring and pull out of the way. 
then remove the two bolts holding the rail in place.
 once you have done this remove the rail and injectors by pulling it back.
 one by one remove the injectors. 
to replace use new o rings and/or insulators reccomended.  lightly grease the o rings.  place the bottom insulators in after using a vaccuum to suck up any shit that may prevent a good seal.  place the injectors into the bottom insulaotrs.  line up the injectos with the rail and push the rail over the o-rings. 
tighten up all fuel rail bolts.  re-connect the wiring.  replace the fuel pump fuse and start the car to check for leaks.  if all good replace the accelartator bracket and your done.  to easy.

Take the old seals to a place that sells seals. They should at least be able to get you the O-rings for a lot cheaper than Nissan. Just tell them that it is for an injector and has to handle petrol at around 45psi and a little bit of heat.
