bah... 'cause it's so hard to use a fire extinguisher - they even have instructions on the label ::) .  So no, I don't feel for him.

Makes me wonder why they had a vid cam. How convinient.

Still leaving the bonnet up made it worse, just let all the smoke escape and nice clean oxygen in to help burn. Whilst proverbial, it's quite literally fuel on the fire.

In that situation I'd prolly try coast up to someones house (or nearby), leave the bonnet down and the car closed up (but leave it accessible enough to open the car and bonnet quickly, easily and safely) then get out and seek a hose or something quicksmart.

But we miss you every day
And I'm bitter 'cause it's unfair
We'll be drinkin' in the sun
Playing music having fun
Cause one day I'll see you there

I haven't seen that video as I'm on 56k so couldn't be farked d/l it, but a mate of mines car actually caught on fire while he was driving.

He had black smoke coming through the air vents of his old ford laser! Luckily he pulled over, flipped the bonnet catch went and grabbed a hose from someones front yard and then lifted the bonnet and put the fire out! He was pretty freaked about it though. Turned out his fuel rail/ something fuel related carked it (he's not motor inclined) and leaked fuel everywhere.

always handy to have a fire extinguisher in the car. Ive had one for a while now. The little ones are pretty pissy though, but theyre the only ones that are practical to have in a car. They only cost about $25 for the cheapest ones. Well worth it
