i have been telling people for ages that these indicators fit the pintara, in fact i mentioned it again only just a few weeks ago.

the clear lights are the same as the usdm s13, not the jdm one we get here.

you can try the 86 honda integra front indicators or the 94 toyota hilux front indicators, i've been told they're a close fit & may need some minor mods to fit but are otherwise good.

you can get them from most autobarn stores in the rice department.

after having read this, i instantly went off to eBay to find some Hilux altezza indicators - got them for $45.00 buy it now!
At the moment, the seller doesnt have any more listed, but if he/she starts another listing with more, i'll post the URL so you can look for it yourself, and buy for yourself if you wish.

..... but the colour of my car is gold, not white!!!
mind you, i'd have to polish my bumpers up a little to get the black bits looking that good - mine have all this white crap on them (door handles did as well, but that came off with windex and elbow grease, this stuff seems to be different)

Grrrr....
Although they look a little different to the Altezza's Noss...  they look like they're just a clear version of the normal orange lens, the the Altezza's have less dimply bits on the inside (or so it seems).  I'll do before-after shots when I get them to explain what I mean...

The extra $5 that I paid was probably to cover eBay fees anyway :)

yeh i know they're different.

i consider the term 'altezza lights' to just be for tail lights.

i would call what you have bought 'clear' and what you can get on ozeparts to be 'opaque clear' or 'frosted'

I could look for those Phillips bulbs (the really expensive ones, i cant remember what they're called now...)
Or, maybe some waterclear amber LEDs...

You'd probably still see the orange bulb in 'frosted' clear lenses, but it wouldnt be as obvious as in the Altezza's....
Will see when i get them... cant wait!

from what i understand, indicators made of clusters of led lights need to have a resistor in them so that the circuit has the same voltage as when the original bulb was installed. if the voltage is lower (by using led lights) then the indicators will flash faster because the circuit will assume that a bulb is blown. i've purchased different brands of commercially avaialble led light indicators and they dont have the resistor so the indicators flash quickly which in my opinion is pretty ordinary.

your right noss, ive converted my whole cluster to blue LEDs and have put, in-line, a 470ohm (not 100% sure on that value, couldnt be stuffed working out ohms law) resistor in the 12v rail, but that procedure is too time consuming. Now autobarn have the LED dash lights readily available or you could visit www.darav.com they are an automotive LED specialist give them a try they have a few retailers in Aus.

From what Noss is saying you need to put resistors in parallel to the LEDs, so there's enough current draw on the flasher to make it flash properly.

~24W worth of resistors is a LOT.

I'm thinking it might be better to get some clear globes or some new orange globes anyway -
on the way home today, my right-side indicators were blinking rapidly, so I pulled over and checked, and it was the nice new front-right indicator.....
However, about 5 mins later, it came back to normal.... might be an intermittent fault in the globe - it was probably shaken up a bit on it's way over here from the eastern states..

Yeh, the plug is different - it's just a matter of cutting the plug off both sets of indicators, and then soldering the old plug onto the new indicators.

The reason why my front-right one was working intermittently was due to a bad ground (in the new light fitting itself).  The wire connected the spring which grounds the bulb was moving around, away from the edge.  I fixed this by tapping into the existing ground wire with another one, and then soldering it onto the outside metal part of the bulb holder.  By the way, it will make it 100 times easier to solder it to the outside of the bulb holder if you first file away a bit of it.....

Sticking to the subject, but changing the model, does anyone know where to get clear indicators for the U13?
Look around all over the place and could not find anything. Does any exist?
