When noss and I were lowering his TRX and my corsair the passenger side drive shaft came out of his car, scared the shit out of us and leaked gearbox oil everywhere...  :o

The only reason it came out, was because while removing the strut to fit the lowered springs we had also taken off the swaybar at the same time (do two things at once... ::)).  Without the swaybar holding the strut/hub/driveshaft in place it simply became to much for it and it slipped out.

Thats how I see it anyway.  Noss may have a differant view.  I'm not sure what he did to fix it once he got back to Melbourne.

If they fall out, the circlips are basically fucked. I need to use a bar to lever mine out cos the clips are very strong.

That's bullshit you're being fed there beefy. On my passenger side driveshaft, i have to use a crowbar to lever the driveshaft out. They are not supposed to 'pop' out easily, even in LSD boxes.
Think about whats happening when you're at 6000rpm in 1st gear spinning both wheels. You don't want your driveshafts popping out then...

You wanted to know if this happens to every TRX owner, so why bother asking if your so called 'expert' says that they do?

generally I would knock them out with a block of wood from behind.

you may have a stuffed clip or the groove it sits in may be worn out !!!

Have a look at the groove it sits in the gear box if its the left hand side

has this only been happening since you put your n13 springs in? have you thought that maybe because the springs are so low, that as a result the struts are coming out on a fair angle, and as a result, pulling on the driveshaft.. just an idea. maybe a screwball middle of the nite idea, but still.

and no i dont often hit myself in the head with mallets mr wiggly, i've moved up to breaker bars.

Yeah noss i thought about that. Im going up this arvo to put it up on a hoist to take out the drivers then put the passengers in after ringing local gearbox shop as they say some cars have special orders of wich one goes in first  so im gonna give it a shot. and im gonna leave springs in until i get my mags tommorrow and if its to low im gonna get some higher ones in it.

Hmm  ::)  sounds like some caveman courting ritual  ::)

Anyway, I had to get a FULL SIZE crowbar onto my shafts to get them out, so I don't think they should be popping out when you're driving along.

If they're popping out alot and the circlips are OK then the bottom of your strut is probably moving.

as mentioned 2 posts and over a year ago, beefy's springs were too short, he installed n13 pulsar super low springs which are about an inch or more lower than superlow u12 springs. as a result, his struts were on an angle and the force was pulling his driveshafts out.

whenever you replace the CV boots or anytime you disconnect the driveshafts you should make sure the snap rings are in good "springy" condition. If they aren't they could come out a lot easier than if they were. I shudder to think of the driveshaft popping out doing 80km/h+

This happened to me on the way home from Newcastle one night (about 1am)  Highway driving at a tick over 110km/h, and CLUNKACLUNKACLUNKA ... driveshaft popped out of the gearbox.  Fortunately, it didn't come all the way out <phew!>
