Wiper Linkage/Consult Port/Sun Sensor

I have searched and wanted to double check before digging up old threads.

My car has the dreaded design flaw where the driver's wiper hits the end of the windscreen (long time ago got stuck there).

The bolt that holds it down is loose as well, needs a new one.

Just wanted to clarify after replacing the retaining bolts (and I read this in another thread) to stop it hitting the end (if it does after tightening the bolt) to get the grab the entire linkage and sort of bend in in the middle so the left part of it is more inverted?

And also, I looked through the FSM and searched for it and it was probably because I had next to no light while searching, cannot find the Consult Port/Diagnostic Data Link. I have my alarm which is duct taped (dodgy installs FTL!!!) which was probably blocking my view and will have to search in better light probably tomorrow but yeah can anyone say exactly which side of the steering wheel it is located under?

I may have missed it in the FSM both Corsair/Pintara but it only showed it for the CA20E engine... is it in the same place?

And last but not least when removing the sun sensor from the grill as I will be changing the dash, the wires that are connected to it pop out/ clip out etc?? Will probably see it when I pull it out but thought I would check as I don't want to rip the wire or whatever...

Consult is on the left hand side of the steering column, above your clutch foot.

There is no consult port in a CA20 powered car.

The sun sensor will have a plug on its wiring. You may be able to pop it out of the dash before removing the crash pad. (the crash pad is the big thing with the cracks from the sun)

I feel slightly stupid... what's a sun sensor?

with the wipers, under the plastic were the wiper mounts... there are 3 bolts holding the wiper linkage.  Make sure these have not come loose, rusted out or broken.  This happened on my first TRX... pain in the ass!

Sun sensor is used in the climate control system.

Col, there's 3 sensors in the system.

Sun sensor on dash where windscreen air comes out
Temp sensor in the actual climate control unit itself
Ambient temp sensor in front of the AC radiator, next to the passenger side head light at the front of car.

Still waiting for someone to change the U12's system to a digital system from a U13 or S13... so I can do it to mine with ease

Found the Consult Port... thanks Minimikee...  and got my TechTom running.

As for the sun sensor, when I removed the dash, it just sort of unplugged itself lol, so that was sweet.

With the wiper linkage, I have noticed that it is missing 3 washers that go under the bolt whereas the left side one has them in there... shall be fun fixing that lol.
