Another transmission problem
« on: Apr 23, 2008, 03:35PM »
I have borrowed a friends 2.4 Auto Pinny for a few days and have noticed it has annoying problem
When you first start it you have to drive it like a manual for about 1 minute then you stop and turn off the car for around 10 seconds, start again and she runs fine
These gearboxes are computer controlled aren't they?
I'm thinking maybe the ECU for the transmission might be buggered or could be something more sinister

Anyone got any ideas?

OK i have bought this car now so REALLY need to get this gearbox sorted out

getaroundcar - How do i run self diagnostic on this? Help much apreciated

Has to be something simple surely, sometimes when you start the car the gearbox will run fine but mainly plays up till it gets to operating temp, then you turn off for 10 seconds and restart and works fine

I'm thinking sensors of some description maybe??? ECU???

Want this sorted out ASAP, really starting to annoy me now   lol

have you checked the fluid level through the dipstick? it needs to be done while the car is at operating temperature and while the motor is running...
