corsair factory central locking..wtf??
« on: Jan 1, 2007, 10:04PM »
I've been trying to help SAIUN with his central locking and I'm stumped beyond belief.
Basically his car got broken into by means of screwdriver in the keyhole, now the drivers side door will not actuate under any circumstance. Pushing the lock up and down will actuate all the other doors, pushing the button on the drivers side door will do the same thing.

The bit thats got me stumped is how the factory acutator works, I can't trigger it by switch polarity, it just blows fuses because it creates a short instead.
I've tried 2 different acutators and haven't had any good results, I would assume something happened to the wiring but its still letting me trigger the other doors so I have no idea at all!

If anyone here can't explain It i'm going to run a single aftermarket acutator in there with an independent control box. There is readily available contstant power and negative triggers inside the door so that won't be a problem.

There is no motor in the driver's door. It's just a switch that controls the other 3 doors.

Seriously? SAIUN swears it used to actuate with the button next to the power windows.

Umm yeah, for me it was exactly the same, installing my after market remote central locking had me stumped, all 3 other doors unlocked but not the drivers (kinda defeats the purpose) so you will just need to but a motor to chuck in the drivers door mine was $17 from jaycar if i remember correctly.

the jaycar motors are $6 i think. Did you just hook it straight to the stock wiring or install a box aswell?

IMO if it doesn't have an alarm don't worry about it.

Do you really need the driver's door motorised?

I'm pretty sure rathies has a Jaycar trade card. Good discounts on some things.

yeh I got a jaycar trade card hehe  ;D I did install an alarm the day after this happened, which is when we discovered the drivers side lock doesn't do jack. Its alright though, I'll make it happen.

Just got my internet back, yall.    ;D

I'll be picking up a central locking kit somewhere tomorrow then once rathies is free he'll be putting it in the door for me.

Thanks for the help, everyone.
Current mods:
ANTRX.com KA24E Stage 2 ECU chip (5kW)
ANTRX.com sticker (30kW) ;D

... that's about all.

That's the way to do it. Just run the driver's door motor as a slave using only the blue and green wires. Saves trouble if the clamp on the rods moves a little.
