hehe had recent problems with my bros hilux ute. shame it is. still goes i suppose for an 83 model no dents, yet. Umm yeah well a flat battery will actually burn out a starter motor as the current drawn is higher than normal because the voltage is lower of the flat battery so it will damage the windings in the starter motor. and eventually ruining your battery and and all the wiring attached to between the two. Chucked in a new battery ran for two days but dodgy place down the coast gave us some piece of crap starter motor that was bits and pieces of old ones we then got a new one 500 bucks later and we're off and running but then 4 weeks later didn't start didn't even jump start, mind you hadn't been started for 4 weeks either but yeah ahd a quick look and fiddled then tried and it worked so god knows where that one was, i was fiddling at the starter relay, there was always 12 volts there so easy way to check if it is the starter motor.
