Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed, and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand.

I just bought my nissan pintara u12 (only 16 gotta start small)

she's silver ca20 motor its done only 120,000 kay's (ill get a picture of the tacho tommorow)

its had one owner...he's still got the receipts from when he bought it. the bodys pretty good but the front end had a bit of paint done to the front driver side guard.....looks ordinary but can be fixed other then that the car is in perfect order and he's even logged the services every 10,000 kays.So the motor runs really well smooth gearbox aswell

The only mods ive done to it are the sound system....3,500$ worth of audio gear has been put into it....im running a kenwood head unit, 2 fusion 6.5' component speakers in the front and 6 by 9's fusons in the back which are both powered by a 1200 watt 4 channel fusion amp the 6.5' are 240 watter's and the 6 by 9's are 300's. For my subs i have a fully imported US Audio 15' subwoofer which is 1000watt max and 750 rms.....this is also running with a 15' 600 rms clarion they're both in a custom twin box...these subs are run by a pioneer monoblock amp 800 watt...stinger cabling insures that everything is running correctly

I don't have an R31 .. but I do have the right engine. Date of failure; April 19th, 2006. Build date, 09/84 -- CA20E powered Nissan Gazelle GL. Been through several burnouts, several hard runs and 200 odd KM without a dash (no really, not even a radio) before my baby had had enough (need a new engine and gearbox, any ex-CA20E conversion people want to get rid of a box and motor? Auto or manual!)

And I lead now! .. at least where the engine is concerned ...

384,722.9km.

My car hit 226,000km today.

It's had a second hand gearbox swap, a pair of reco-ed CV shafts and numerous engine mounts.

And neal? I think Budgie has long forgotten about updating the first post.

Mine was original engine though! Filters and stuff changed, alternator replaced... Supposedly reringed, but it turns out that mechanic was dodgy for cheaply tuning up a car and throwing it out the door with minimal work.

So I think it was $280 for nothing. ;)

One timing chain? I thought they were supposed to be changed every 100,000km?

to my knowledge timing chains should last as long as the rest of the engine or when they start rattling big time. Every mechanic i have talked to says you should easly get 300000km + out of a chain. Unless its a ford exploda (explora) one of my mates had one and he got bagged big time, one of the 4 chains went at 130000km, $4500 dollars to do all 4 chains. So anyone thinking of buying a bravo or courier 4L V6 they use the same engine dont buy one.

Mine has 267,000.  Original Engine, no work done on engine, only second hand gearbox installed, 2 new clutches, minor bits and pieces.  Nothing huge.  Blows Blue smoke when it is cold.  Need to have the timing belt changed and the gearbox mount replaced.
