« on: Jul 16, 2004, 02:24AM »
ok
1. Sound system suggestions (upto 300-500 dollars max if possible)
2. Body Kits anyone? just front and back bumper + side skirtys OH AND A SPOILER/WING :P
3. Bucket Seats? (I need new seats atm, someone broke my drivers seat today  >:( back left part which holds onto the wheelie bit to shift the seat back and forward broke, still usuable but a bit weird)
4. neon lights?

5. suggestions on were to buy these parts ( IN ADELAIDE IF POSSIBLE )
and an idea on how much each different section would cost me.

thanks guys :)

heya mate welcome to the site. Always good to see another South Aussie come aboard :)

Chad recently crashed his trx, and has the front bumper side skirts and rear spoiler up for sale here in Adelaide. You'll find all the details here: http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?topic=4536.0 You might even be able to scavenge his trx seats which are a lot more comfortable then the Corsair seats, depending on the colour of your interior.

Neon lights? hrm, if you like that kinda stuff i suppose :P

for $500 you could probably pick up a base model mp3 deck and some speakers, forget about subs for that price :)

Chris.

Firstly welcome to the site. You'll find most people around here are friendly and always willing to help.
Secondly, browse thru some previous threads, especially those in the audio section for system tips.

1. For your system, for ~3-500 you can get an entry level head unit with some half decent 6x9s and that about it. Look for a package deal at strathfield or jb. Also, you gotta allow for installation unless you're gonna do it yourself.

2. Dont rape your car and bolt a hideous wank style aluminium wing to the back. A kit would be hard to come by. Not sure if trx components fit on the corsair, but even if they did youll have a bugger of a time finding parts, then youd have to pay out of your ass for it. Theres a thread somewhere around about EOI for custom front bars, check that out. A nice neat spoiler though should be pretty easy to come by. grab a trx one from a wrecker. not sure of cost, but you may also need to paint it.

3.Seats are entirely a personal thing. Go and test sit some at autobarn or wherever and find some you like.

4. I would suggest any funds you allocate to neons be transfered directly to getting a better stereo. IMO neons look cheap and nasty, with some execptions though. But if you insist toddle down to autobarn and check out hat theyve got on offer.

Every TRX bodykit part except the rear bar will fit the corsair without modifications.  The rear bar has to be modified due to the number plates location.

I don't think you read the post above did you Bogan!?

I have a TRX KIT for sale!!! It would look great on your corsair. I could also offer you a passenger TRX seat as my drivers one buckled from my head hitting the headrest!! >:(

Just PM me as to what parts you do want...I pretty much have a whole car for parts apart from the tail end.

First a Silver TRX, then a White TRX...whats next? Game Boy-Clear style TRX?

personally i would modify the spot where the number plate would normally go on a pintara if fitting a trx kit to a corsair. a number plate cut into a trx bar would most likely look shithouse, if anyone did it i'd probably ban them, or at least punch them.

hrmm some good ideas for the body there, i thinks im gonna have to check out Chadza's parts sometime via net or in life.

the sound system thing though, where should i go to get a head + speakers, and what brand should i be looking for, i dont care much about price anymore, just 2 speakers and an mp3 cd head unit is good enough :)

Head on down to strathfield or jb. A good mp3 deck should be ~$300. Try a jvc, everyone seems to recommend them. As for speakers, try pioneer or US audio 6x9s. These sound tops and you should be looking at about $200. Also, this time last year when i bought my stereo all the new model decks were coming out. I got an expensive unit for half price  8) so check this out. Also, once youve got a figure from one place, go to another and see if they can better it. Then go back to the original place

yes this is an old thread but it was what i was looking for..

well im going to buy a trx kit this week and i dont see why you cant just move the number plate from where it is on the corsair to the actual kit??? and then just buy some cheap ass lights to screw into the number plates so they light up still so it aint illegal or summin like that.

Yeah, you could do that.  But if your going to the trouble of putting a TRX kit onto your corsair, spraying it and getting it right I wouldn't go with the half assed approach.

When I was looking into fitting a TRX kit I was going to use TRX rear bumper, cut out the counter sunk section that holds the plate on my corsair bar and then fit it too the TRX bumper.  I never did anything past the planning stage, so I didn't bother working it out any further.

DUDE!

Get a headunit for $200 and a set of 6x9's (will suffice till u get some good cash)

Get dark legal tint for $150.00  Just colour code your bumpers and get the car lowered.  Will be much  easier than gettin and fixin a trx kit, and prolly a bit cheaper.

Just get a TRX seats for the front! Put some sporty covers on them and that will be good!  Buckets are way too expensive!

For neon's, if you must only get the wiper jets done!  And maybe a neon for a interior light!  Nice and efective but not too gay!

Get a Pod filter, new plugs, good 8mm leads and advance your timing, just to compensate for the style weight  :D

if you like i can sell you a set of mb-quart 6x9s they are like 6 months old but they do come with a 3 year warranty i dont think that you could do better for a 6x9 speaker with your money as they are a hand made german speaker they are the dte169 modle.

i am selling due to a new sub so i was going to stick some 6adn 1/2 splits back there.

btw i also have an amp to power them for sale too

Not true, fixed back OBX seats are $400-500 a pair.

Please don't. Wiper jet led's were the gayest thing ever made. You'd be better off just getting short neons and putting them under your seats like i did sometime back (they aren't there anymore).

k i might take u up on that offer, ill see what i can do, ive kinda run outta money at the moment lmao :P

on the topic of neons, yeah kinda changed my mind about anything fancy. as NAE NAE said above. i reckon i might just install some under the seats, or just under the hook bit under the steering wheel and glovebox, probably the only place which it would look cool, cause then itd be a bit of a similar setup to what my mums commodore has, some special lights which go there an illiuminate the whole car via reflecting off the carpet n stuff, some standard holden stuff but still a decent idea

neways thanks for the current ideas guys. most of it seems do able for the next however long i have the car
n its always removable too for when i get a new car (God Forbid me ever selling my corsair but still, there always comes a time *tear comes down cheek*)

Yeh personally i'll never ever get them done cuz i don't liek them either man!  But in this case wiper jet LED's are less gay than under chassis neons!!

I dont mind the undercar neons as long as the install is done properly. If you can see the neon rods it looks shithouse but if you cant see the rods and all you get is the glow then it looks nice.
