Simple.
Too many stickers, flashing lights = Rice
TRD sticker on a Nissan is just wrong. what idiot would do such a thing?
I hope no one would think the stock body kit of a GTR is rice. Because then they are just not thinking at all! Come on...its hot. And besides, I dont believe anything standard is rice and would be wrong to call it so. I mean, Yes, the lancer evo and wrx's have huge body kits, huge wings, but they aren't rice. They are factory. Look at the bonnent of a pulsar gtiR. Its looks awful i think, but still can't be classified as rice.
Gernerally speaking, I think most people go rice bacause they can't afford performance. And if thats the case, so be it. Personally I would prefer to buy a shit box, save money for a decent car, than a rice mobile.
You said somethign about neons and apexi stickers as standard items. You'll never find that I never said that, you must have misread what I wrote.
In Sydney, we have heaps of VN, VP with the current HSV body kit on them. I think that is rice, espeically as it is a standard item on the present car, and a commodore with a HSV body kit, looks like a wanna be.
I agree with you. Most people would prefer a evo over gli, but can't afford it! I just dont see why you would waste money on trying to be something you're not. Even if they can't afford it, rice does get expensive and after the cost of a lancer gli, a fairly new one, with the rice body kits interior stickers tacho even, you could easily buy a stanard GSR with change! SO maybe we are both wrong?
Lets face it, we all want our cars to go well, and look good. I would prefer mine to go better and look worse if I had the option. And I guess thats what I was asking.
If you had to choose between the two...which would it be. A car that went well, and looked bad, or a car that went bad and looked good? Thats goes back to the money. Id rather spend money on my engine than ricey stuff. No use having a nice ricey car, if it breaks down when your going for a cruise in it! A $30 ricey sticker is the same price as a new Nissan Thermostat. A new interior roof, round the same price as extractors. A whole new interior then you're looking at some serious engine work.
I have some great ricey pics Id like to post on here, but dunno how. Can someone tell me?
