N14 Pulsar SSS bumper
« on: Jan 17, 2003, 02:07AM »
Hey guys, I always thought they looked similar, but I actually tried a jap spec SSS pulsar bar on the pintara, and it's pretty close.  If you want to fit one you need a pulsar reinforcement bar as well as the actual bar and then it all fits with no mods at all.  Thie photos are of it resting on the pintara reinforcement bar, so looks a bit crap.  But u get the idea...   Comes heaps lower to the ground and looks mean as I reckon!! (it wont be red when it goes on by the way... that bar is my bro's)

to fit the aftermarket bar you'd have to, as aussie_gli suggested, get the reinforcment bar from the pulsar too

I want one ;D  Now all we need is a rear bumper, side skirts, decent engine mods, etc, etc.  Gotta start somewhere though

Thanks to Ryan for hosting. Sorry about the quality-better pics one I get my own scanner...and once I get some 16's and maybe lower it! Let me know what u ppl think.

You definatley need something on the arse end it just doesn't look quite right without it
otherwise it looks pretty sweet

what type of mods were needed for the 180 lip to go on as i'm thinking about doing it like really thinking of doing it that is until i saw the N14 stuff but it'll just depend on cash

Those pics don't show the arse very well, but it looks ok (IMHO) without the TRX rear...I did find a TRX rear, but I'm not the biggest fan and I had to change my exhaust tip as its too wide (oval shaped) but I couldn't be bothered.
I got the lip for $15 on ebay. Had to shave some plastic off the top fron so it would reach around the side.s completely. Then just a matter of bolting on (15 bolts-overkill) and filling gap with sikaflex, then prep whole thing for paint, mesh and lights.

well, i've already told you that i think it looks great... its a fantastic effort... i think it looks good without anything on the rear, but if it did have something there it would make it look better again...  ;D

Yeah, maybe a TRX rear or top rear spoiler would go ok. Anyway back late last year I had limited cash and limited time. Now I got no time, and currently getting gearbox rebuilt, so not much cash to spend on it anyway....aims are: fix gearbox-run car into ground-buy new(er) car. Thx 4 ur comments.

Cheers

IMHO i think that having something that hangs that low atthe front doesn`t blend in well with the rest of the kit

I think it needs bulkier kit for sides and rear to match in
What is the point of a signature, who REALLY reads it??

suprisingly, there arent too many available, i have a short list as i've been looking at them myself for a while...

basically there are front bars available from newstyle motorsports, suborn (n15), jetspeed and fibre motive. and most other companies just re-sell these items and call them the ns style or the sb style etc..

your in brisbane right? you'll find that ares speed stock the newstyle kits if you like that front bar.

i've been thinking about it, but i'm not sure. i'm worried about the n14 front bar sitting too low compared to the trx sideskirts, i dont want my kit to look all out of whack. i think i might just modify the stock bar slightly.. but i'm still not sure... i'd be more likely to buy an r33 gtr style rear bootlid spoiler that i found for an s13.. they're very hard to find
