Hi welcome. there is a wiki article which is a good guide for modification steps basically tells you what to do first. I think it goes from cheapest and easiest to more difficult and exspensive mods.

here is the link

I believe he said cheap power increase, if you drill/modify your cat converter it is a pretty big fine from the evironmental police. If you want to do a cat mod, in the tech section there is a thing on how to install a bigger/better flowing cat, I think the one used is from a 6cyl magna.

welcome blake, unfortunately cheap and power tend to be mutually exclusive.

I would suggest a 2.5-3" full exhaust with a decent set of extractors and a 3" cat, remove the resonator box from inside the left hand guard just behind the front bar, enlarge the airbox inlet to 3" and run a K&N filter to start.

That will be around $1200 already, chuck a cam in and it'll be up to $1500.

To get caught by the "environmental police" you need the car taken through Regency.
Which I never intend on happening - so I'm fine. lol.

What the hell is a drilled out cat. I assuming you mean smashing guts out of the cat.

1. The shit in the cat converter is highly topic. I wouldn't recommend playing with it.
2. The fines for removing a cat are huge. If you get caught you deserve it, removing the cat will give you about 2-3hp. Thats worth it NOT.

Your car may be able to go faster.
But I can go any where. except into a garage, underground carpark, bridge...

2 sticks and manual locking hubs. have to get out to drive it around
Good old Nissan.

KA's are the shit. According to all the info on the site, they are better then sliced bread and thats saying something.

first i would do is go with the k&n filter as that box is pretty restrictive,i noticed a fair bit more power when i first put my pod on ,and then one weekend i when to mitre 10 and go some pvc and made a cold air intake it works great instead of the hot air heres the link where i got my info from.http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php/topic,4437.html,

Topic? I've drilled mine out (had a lot of fun doing so) and the only side effect is a bad smell for the first few days, then that fades away.
And cops cant just pull you over, take off your cat and examine if its got stuff in it or not - So the only way you're going to get busted for it is if your car has to go through Regency. Which due to certain friends of friends and friends of friends of friends, should never happen to me.
And I believe the fine can be up to (UP TO - not definite) $10,000.

Anyways, enough arguing. I got this negative feedback when I was thinking of doing but ended up doing it anyways and Ive got no regrets.

I think he meant toxic.

I will own up that my car is also equipped with a very, very high flowing cat converter. Have nothing to compare it to performance wise as the whole exhaust got done in one shot, but for me is was a simple matter of price, decent high flowing 3" cats are $300++

If I ever do have to go over the pits then I'll put the stock cat back in place.

No point arguing with him. Once he gets the $10,000 fine we can say I told you so. But he's got connections so its fine.

Power mods:
CAI
Exhaust (cat,extractors, etc)
Chip
Camshaft
Next stage is high compression etc

Maybe try a bit of weight reduction. Cheaper and will make your car go faster. Don't expect huge power gains from the NA but if you do the mods properly you can have some respectable torque steer  ;D

Intake, exhaust, cams and lighten the crap out of it.

To be honest, don't expect it to be a rocket. Too many young new guys (like myself at one stage) came on here and thought they were gonna turn the car into a beast by doing a few things and it simply doesn't work like that, you will see a gain, but it will make you bored soon after.

Make the car into a handling thing, bit hard with the u12 as no-one does much, but after seeing some stuff recently, the use of branded parts in racing apart from motors isn't there as much in chassis design.
Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed, and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand.

Cheap power???

Electric "Superchargers" with the same induction force of a computer fan FTMFW.... ;D

Ill fight you. May even throw a bar of soap your way. Maybe a few wax strips and some clip on brembo brake calipers for your fooly sic civic.
