this is a common problem in n13 pulsars to fix it you need to pull the cluster out
and pull it apart and resolder dry solder joints if your not competent with pulling electrical stuff apart/cant use a soldering iron than dont even atempt it  take it to a auto electrician and he'll do it for 80-100 bux

drop the steering wheel to its lowest position then unscrew 4 screws (approx) near the  lever that adjusts the steering wheel height you can then pull the bit of plastic off that the screws held down then take the screws out of the plastic thing thats around the guage cluster theres 6, 4 below and 2 near the cluster itself you can now pop the black thing off and pull it out gently until you can reach your hand round and pull
the 2 concecters off (defogger and hazard yours may will have more accesories if its ti or sss) once youve got the black thing off you have direct

access to the cluster undo the 4 screws then pull it out until you get your hand behind it to rip the two plugs out the 2 plugs out of the back of the cluster
now when you have the cluster out take all the lights out (they will twist out) making note of where they all go now take

the next step is to get the green flex pcb off which is held in place with little plastic things sticking up out of the white plastic (2mm high like little match sticks)
theres 4 big nuts that need to come off they hold the temp and fuel guage in place

the next step is to get the 2 green plastic clips off you can wiggle them side to side and they come out they can be stiff but they will come
after this the flex pcb comes off

above is a pic the clip half way out

next step is leavering the pcb off (this pcb is a solid fiberglass one) youll see 2 lots of 4 steelpins sticking up out the back of the pcb there 2-3mm high and have white plastic holding them in place

these are long pins that connect this pcb to the speedo assembly it
comes out easily you need to pull it straight up then pull the pcb down

once you have the white pcb off youll be able to see all the little solder points that have corroded thus making a dodgey conection and f*cking your guages readings up you need to resolder the 2 plugs and any other solder conections

after youve done that you can reasemble the cluster and test it make sure all the
pins go into there holes i found this very hard make sure everything goes where its ment to
and ended up taking the speedo assembly out to do this take the clear cover of cluster
off the front of the cluster take the 4 screws off the back of speedo assembly and the speedo assembly will come out
you can then make sure they go into the right holes

remember if you wreck it it aint my fault also remeber that VDO made this gauge and never to buy sh*t off em
