Clutch/gearbox weird thing
« on: Jun 9, 2008, 04:19PM »
Hey all,

When I have the clutch disengaged there is a sound of rushing air coming from around the gearbox. I tried to pin-point it but I couldn't find it. When the clutch is engaged its fine  ???

Also when I engage the clutch it feels like there is a rattling through the pedal...any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated guys  ;)

Your thrust bearing is goneski's

yeah i think if the clutch pedal is out and its noisy its the gearbox.

and if the pedal is depressed and its noisey its the thrust bearing.

which is mega gay because its just 1 little bearing but u need to pull the whole box off to fix it :(  :-\
Noss you look like a cereal killer ;D

So assuming its the thrust bearing its an easy fix? I'm thinking of getting a heavy duty clutch (exedy) so would that be included in the kit? Or should I get on seperately?

Thrust bearings are included with the clutch kit. So now is a good time to do your clutch.
