New Seats
« on: Jun 3, 2005, 04:09PM »
I have new seats waht i want to put into my car... and i have to use the existing rails but its just a pain in the ass to fit, i was wondering does anyone kow what sort of place would put them together for me? i have all the bolts and extra steel frames need to adapt, but i dont have the drills or practical side of things to do it myself (im one of those people who isnt really good as fabricating stuff... eg i would make a shitty builder/carpenter ect)

Any performance type workshop should be able to do it. but expect around $200 if not more for installation...

had a good crack at them today got it all sorted bolted them in and it was way to high... goingto try a different way tomorrow but fear they might still be too high,

cant remember the model of them SSS but this is them

full leather trim... very nice... hopefully i can get hem fitted (biggest problem is the big ass stupid awd gearbox makes the floor pan really raised... possibly 20 cm's high so it makes its hard...)

I have these in my U12 (passenger side not installed yet:

Cobra Monaco, in black. Managed to get the last pair in the country. I chose them for function over form, took a bit to get used to, but i wanted something that would stop me from sliding around.

I did the adaptor brackets myself, took about a day measuring up/cutting up material/welding the adaptors.

ricey racer type

"Ricey racer type" seats aren't FIA sanctioned and approved. These are. They also allow the use of a 5 point harness.
If i was going for the fool sick ricey street racer look, i would have bought them in bright red.

They are there to serve a purpose; to hold me in place when going around corners.

you are joking, yeah? right...mmmk???  I don't see no slip on playboy seat covers, or nismo seat belt pads anywhere near SSS' seats. Although, word has it that he will be fitting pink neons underneath them.

The reason that those "ricey racer type of thing with the side bits" are there  has nothing to do with looks, it is because its a high wear area of the seat, and therefore needs to have a heavy duty fabric on there.

Just because it is a contrasting colour doesn't mean that it is super rice with cashew nuts. ::)

SSS, have you got any pictures of your seat installed?

i like both those seats... SSS' seat is the hardcore racer seat... i'd prefer Ziin's only because of the adjustable back... you know i gotta pimp it when i do laps :)

nar but i go drive ins and such a position could get uncomfortable after a while..
What do ralliart do??? make stickers???

Everyone is titled to an opinion.
Those wear patches are actually darker in the flesh, IMO they are heaps better than the wear patches on the new Monaco S, which are smooth; the Monaco's i have are perforated. Believe me, the Monaco S IMO looks ricey compared to the Monaco, and they are the same seat, but with minor changes (ie the wear patches).

SSS' seat is the hardcore racer seat...

And that's why i bought them, i very much so intend on racing this car when the turbo setup and the majority of the car has been sorted in Targa Tasmania.
