Just get a RB26DETT from the jap importers and take it down to your local machanic and they should be able to fit in a day.

sure... Where do you plan on putting the extra cylinders ???

The only Pintara capable of fitting an RB26 is the R31 (Rear wheel drive one) because that engine bay was designed with the RB series engines in mind (RB20ET Passage GT in Japan, and RB30E skyline)

For a front wheel drive setup you need to fit all 6 cylinders, a gearbox/transaxle/diff and driveshafts ACROSS the front of the car, not along the centre, like in a RWD setup.

Of course you could mount the engine in the boot, reverse the spinning of the tail shaft and make it a Rear engine, Front Wheel drive.

You won't see much change from your 20 grand though.
I'm so far behind at work, I'm almost retro!

I will say this:

An RB26DETT swap into a U12 is possible. This is some of what would be required to get this to fit and do the job properly:
- Strip the car to a bare shell/chassis and place it on a rotesserie to facilitate mock up of drive shaft routing to the rear, including rear diff placement and new rear suspension mounting points
- Fabrication of a trans and driveshaft tunnel
- Modifiying the firewall to clear the engine, in turn modifying the dash mounting
- Reinforcing the chassis of the car
- Converting the front suspension to eliminate the fwd hubs

There is a hell of a lot more, and honestly, unless it was a twin turbo nissan V8 putting down around 800hp at the crank, it really would not be worth it.
If you want an RB26, swap one in a GTS-T or buy a GTR.

ehh if you really want an rb26 , get either an r31 or vl and drop it in that, then again within the realms of sanity a modified rb20 in either of those cars would be cheaper

Well time is of the essence.

And it would be much cheaper to convert to as it's a fwd.
And would be happy as an kid in an candy shop in the u12 engine bay ;D

How much would one of these be???  sr20ve

out of them i'd have to suggest either the sr20 or ca18.....

th sr16 and 4age are awsome engines but a little to lacking in torque for your car in my opinion

the bp is a good engine but would be a hassle to put in(if you were to go to that kinda effort putting one in i'd actualy suggest to get a mitsubishi 4g63 instead....

but all in all the ca18det would be the easiest and make the most sense

and your current gear box will practly bolt up for when you blow up the one that comes with it, or if you try to get away with keeping the stock one that way it'll cost less to do

yeah the standard box would keep up quite well with that, so long as he dosn't crunch it and that kinda stuff, oh and double clutching heheh
