coil lead to dizzy is broken

hey guys i was under my bonnet giving it a clean when one of my leads from my dizzy to my coil's broke it fell out of the plug end.when i touched it,it felll to pieces like it was 100 years old i had the mechanics check all that shit when my tacho was hooked up but it looks like they didnt. the top of the coil was all white and coroded looking like it was blocked around it and the plug was dust and rust inside.i was just wondering 2 things is it alright to drive beacause its twin spark and all that crap .and if i think im right and it looks like it hasent been doing its job for a while,is it a performance thing like if there properly conducting and clean will it perform better then dirty and crap or there meaningless? cheers

If you can establish whether it was the coil lead for the exhaust side plugs or the intake side, you will be ok driving for a little bit without a lead on for the exhaust side coil until you get a replacement.

thanx man yer i went and got a bosch somthing arather type,and swap one side plug over on the the new lead runs alot better autobarn didnt have any u 12, but tryed telling me my car was a u13,so i skipped him repco had the full 10 kit for $70 which i think i may do later on but for now its alot better,just a shame you cant get a single lead you gotta buy the pack,but anyhow i just thought i would share my experience.

I had a crook lead. I took the lead in to Autobahn with me, measured it against the ones in stock and bought the closest sized one. Works fine.

yer thats what i tryed to explain to him but i just gave up and got half the same from burson works good.
