has anyone tried to fit the seats off a 90>ish maxima? they look like they will fit? they would need wiring to be done as they are all electric adjustments. the door trims also look as if they might fit also. has anyone used there parts for anything?

You will find that half the J30 stuff fits the u12 since I have done it myself. The seats will fit, so will r31 seats. I will leave it up to you to figure it all out since I discoverd it myself by having both cars stripped apart. Just try everything you can, you will be suprised what fits. Thats all I am gonna say.  Have fun as I have.

::) YES THE SEATS DO FIT! That was the question that was asked Jono.   I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm not going to go and name everything that can fit, or it wouldnt make my car as unique now wouldnt it. If some one asks me specificaly what fits then I might tell them. I'm not just gonna go and blabber everything away and have every Tom, Dick and Harry using the same parts as me. Any real competitor would know what I mean. You can pick a J30 up from the auctions for only $800 to $1200 depending on the damage done. So just get out your tools and start unbolting stuff and figure things out for yourself Jono.  No offence, but thats how I am. I don't have anything against you but it seems like you do with me.

Ok. So I will be a little nicer. About the steering wheel you mentiond: The steering wheel does fit. The wheels don't fit cos their 5 stud, thats common sense. To do that you need to change the complete hubs, brakes, rear axle and suspension set up etc. Hows that for some help.

And pedro666, the door trims fit on the door, but the handle and door locks do not match. You need to cut the holes out for the u12 door handles and door locks then take it to a auto trimmer to get patched up and looking shmick. To use the Maxima door locks and handle positions you will need to re-arange the door lock mechanisms, using the J30 Maxima rods, which is a lot of stuffing around. Then you will have to cut a new hole for the lock. So I would just go with the U12 existing ones and modify the door trims. And the plastic door console tends to stick out abit on the sides.

Take it easy

We all make mistakes, going back a few years ago I didnt now half as much as I do now. Looking back at some stuff I said, I'm embarrassed.  Its just a matter of trying things out. So unless you try things yourself or stand side by side with another mechanic and watch or help out, its hard to know exactly what can fit ot how to make it fit. It can be a lot of fun, and it can also be hell trying to fit things. But you will find that the j30 is closer to the u12 than people think.

Thats fine Chad, you don't have to like my car, but "I Am" aiming to compete in Auto Salon once my car is finished, and I won't stop till my car is in Hot 4's magazine or Auto Salon, no matter how long it takes. But thats me, so if you don't like it then thats just your opinion. I am alwasy happy to help others out, but I can't tell everyone everything that I got in my car. Lets not get carried away now, you should understand what I mean. Once again, this is not about me, its about helping some one else with their car so stay on topic. If you want something to say then message me personaly and say all you want until your hearts content.

please don't.

Who the hell are you to tell me "DON'T".  You need to remember that there has been a Pintara in Auto Salon before, and the owner spent 5 years working on his car. I have owned mine since 2003 and have only began to make some real progress in the last two years, so I do have a while to go and I am not going to rush it, cos thast a nice way to make mistakes. So you can't let other peoples foolish remarks about your car get in the way, cos there has been a lot of shit cars in Hot 4's and Auto Salon, and a lot of them were out dated or ugly peices of crap, they some how made it, so there is no reason why a fairly good looking, highly modified and unique u12 like mine cannot make it. There will always be people who think your car is shit no matter how good it is, so you either ingnore it or just take the critisizm in to consideration, if your car needs improvemnt, make it look better and move on. Remember, its about uniqueness, there are far too many Skylines, Silvia's and WRX's out there, plain and boring dude. Learn to be proud of what you drive or get an R33 Skyline or somthing like everybody else.

yeh i think the 'do the seats fit' question was answered about a week before you came into this thread hiro..

i know the rear strut inserts from the j30 fit as well.. but that was a simple case of checking the part numbers in a catalog.

i know this thread is old but i think this question is still valid, with the rails on the seats what did people do with the odd longer rail? thinking about cutting it and welding it back together, but not sure if it is used by the runner.. ??
