trx oil pressure gauge into corsair

Ok, so I have a trx gauge I am putting into my corsair ghia.
I know I need to get a trx sender unit but
what I would like to know is how do I wire it up to the cluster?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone know where I can get the sender unit from?
I was quoted $130 from repco, Covenrty reckon they haven't sold one for two years!
and they don't keep them anymore...

Ok, a update on this conversion.
I put the trx cluster into my ka24 corsair(without swapping sender units)
and when I turned the key on to ACC the oil gauge went straight past the 8 mark.
It stays there whilst driving and goes down slowly after the key is taken out.
After sourcing a TRX oil pressure sender unit,I fitted it to the engine and connected the two wires.
The corsair wiring had the 2nd connector sitting beside the other connector.

When I put the key in the ignition I got the same reading as above.

Does anyone know what is going on?
I was told that perhaps the gauge is getting to much voltage?

My corsair did the same. I spliced a wire onto the one that connected to the sender, and ran that through to the dash, attaching it to the appropriate wire on the plug that connects to the guage cluster.

You'll have to prod it a bit to figure out which wire is the right one (I cant say from memory), but yeah.

Rob, is there one pin on the non TRX/Ti sender... but on the models with oil pressure guage, two pins on the back of the sender?

One for guage and one for low oil dash light?

I need to hook mine up as well on the ATTESA, I have the guage but its not hooked up.  Need a sender from a TRX or a Ti (i think)

Mate, there is one pin on standard oil sender unit. (male end)
The TRX sender has two pins male end and round flat end).The corsair wiring also had the wire for
the round flat pin taped to the loom..

I will have to check my wiring and see if it exists on my car.  Auto CA18DET ATTESA missed the oil pressure guage, but the manuals had them.

Further Update.
After reading a Gregory's manual and Haynes (showed nothing related)
I headed to Nissan and looked though their service manual.
The tech then cam and looked at my car and said the wiring in the engine bay was correct.
Suggested putting a multimeter on the sender to check voltage.

Since I don't have the equipment I asked a auto electrician to look at it and he said the gauge is a open circuit,
The wire that goes from the sender in the engine bay up to the cluster is in the wrong pin slot.
So I have booked it in to have it fixed as I don't wanna probe the slots with a positive wire and do damage.

After this is done I will let you know which wire needs to be changed.....

yeah, same.one guy i went to wanted to charge $160 because he reckoned I had changed the car from original.

Ok. so back to the wreckers and I check the wiring from the trx (gutted) wreck.The plug that goes into the cluster(big white plug)has the same colour wires and locations as my corsair.I put a test light on the red/yellow wire (2nd from bottom LHS)
and the gauge goes down when the car is on..

I have a feeling that I need to splice the yellow wire that comes off the sender and earth that to the body..
Will let you know how I go.....
Auto lecky cant do the car until Tues so just trying to figure it out myself..
BTW, if you haven't guessed I am teh suck with electrics...

OK, so what the autoelec did was found that there was a break in the wire (red/yellow)somewhere between the sender and the cluster.instead of spending ages trying to find it he ran a new wire from the gauge sender to a location just above where the fuses are below right of the steering wheel. It is a red/yellow wire.

The other wire coming off the sender unit is yellow and this is for the oil light on the dash.I hope this helps other people..

It cost me $70 although I had the dash out ready for him...

yeah, it works well,sits just below the 4 mark whilst at idle then between 4-6 when cruising.Can get close to 8 when aclerating quickly..
has a smallish jump sometimes but that could be anything I guess..
i have to remember that the gauge is 13 years old...
Anyway,looks cool with the gauge working now....whilst the dash was out I found the plugs for the trx spotlights and the rear wiper (for the hatchbacks)
