Title: WTB: 89 pintara engine

Hey can anyone here help me, ive got an 89 4 cyl auto pintara that has had the engine let go. So now im after a replacement engine so i can sell the car , i need an engine that is mechanically not too bad. If anyone in here has one or can direct me to a place where i can get one i would really appreciate it. I am in tamworth nsw, but can organise the engine to be freighted.

not wanting to bitch or play devil's advocate, but there should really be some consistency when it comes to enforcing rules which are in place for a reason.  letting some people slide but coming down on others isn't really fair.

Lozza, we'd need to know a few more details, because 1989 pintara could be

-an R31 with a CA20E motor, and they're RWD, in which case talk to Matt (user=K1NG P1N)

or a U12 and they could have a CA20 or a KA24 in there.

sorry, just clearing it up... I think the U12's only appeared in November '89.

Srry for putting it here but im new here and did not know and i hope i havnt upset ppl.. It is an 89 executive rear wheel drive, if it helps it got 8 spark plugs on it. It isnt a U12.

nah, i'm sure you haven't upset anyone, i'm just thinking that if some people can get away with posting WTB's in other sections, then the 30 post rule is overridden, and we might as well not have it at all.  maybe changing the topic from a WTB to a "Where can i find a good condition motor for a .... etc etc etc"...

as for some direction, you may actually find your best bet is to find a similar car with a mechanically okay condition and just do a transplant.  and while you'll have a shell left over, you can either part it off yourself, or just get a wreckers/towing company to come pick it up for free.  check ebay, they always have lots of r31 pintara's going for sale

Ok, so far ive checked the trading post, ebay, all of our local wreckers and some others. Is ther ant wreckers that specialise in these kind of motors in nsw?

i'm looking for one but all the wercker told me that is not good one for the r31...they are all poorly builded...
