Title: N14 side indicator install - how to fit??
Post by: rival81 on Jan 30, 2004, 09:45AM
Ok i've just received my N14 indicator's from ozeparts to fit to my series 1 TRX.  I've put the orange bulbs from the new indicators into the old housings, but when trying to fit the indicator back into the body of the car there is a white plastic nobbly bit on one end that seems to stop it going in, should i just chop some of this off? What else do i need to chop?

I'm assuming you fit indicators with the rounded part facing towards the front of the vehicle?

Can someone who's done this tell me how they got their N14 side indicators to fit in and stay in? Thanks so much!

Argh i can't figure this out and i've been trying all day - does anyone know?  I'm thinking i might have to glue this thing on - but then i wouldn't be able to replace the bulb in future without breaking the indicator off!??

Ok guys, i finally got them in!  I ended up using two different methods for each side....on one side i made up a little plastic extender for the plastic knob thing as it wasn't long enough to fit it in snugly. On the other side i figured out a way to put it in by cutting the plastic and a small piece of the metal. If anyone has trouble putting theirs in feel free to ask me how i did mine since no one else seems to know...i'd recommend the plastic entender method as the best way to do it cleanly. I'm glad the front indicator install is a lot simply than these were! Those of you with series 2 TRXs i envy you :P

Hmm yours must be different cos i had to chop about 3 bits off and then glue an extra bit of plastic on and chop out some of the metal on my car to make it fit. It's fine now tho ;)
