ahoy-hoy
who has meshed up their old-school grille?? i am ready to do it right now, but im totally short of mesh.
went to bunnings today quickly, and they had no such suitable mesh around.
where did meshed-up members obtain their mesh?
-
say mesh over and over and it starts to sound like it's not really a word...
The meshiest members, afaik, are aussie-gli and fmx_rider. Whether Ryan-Noss-erush has been working on his, I dunno.
-
my grille has been meshed for a while now. i got my mesh from super cheap auto.. same stuff is available at autobarn...
look in the yellow pages under alluminum manufacturers or mesh manufacturers, you could probably find some schmick mesh somewhere for a lot cheaper...
-
for example, in melbourne, there are companies such as:
metal mesh pty ltd
14-16 crawford st braeside
Ph: 1800 671 715
australian mesh pty ltd
unit 1,3 bungaleen crt dandenong
Ph: (03) 9794 5353
there are also plenty of wire manufacturers around who probably make spanktastic mesh to your specs
-
I have a supply of mesh that is yet to be put to it's intended meshful application.
I bought my mesh from Bunnings or Hardwarehouse or whatever it's called. I believe I found it in the mesh section, and all I did was slap some silver paint on it and cut it to size.
I'll fit it one day, btw it cost less than $15 for 1.5 metres.
-
My frontbar and front speakers are covered in blue mesh from autobahn. I looked up that place in braeside, but couldn't be f'ked going down there.
-
just got back from repco (formerly an autobarn) on centre road... they only had one type of mesh there and it sucked majorly. it was too spaced out and looked tacky :( hopefully autobarn or super cheap will have something better..... :-/
-
I got my mesh off a mate who knows somebody at Jetspeed. Cost me $35 and was enough to mesh a few mates's n14 pulsars too 8) It's a really fine mesh, a lot finer than the gay mesh that's available from autobarn/repco etc.
-
There is nothing wrong with gay autobahn mesh...........
-
ok this may be a really stupid question, but how in f*cks name do you attatch the mesh onto the car?
-chucky-
-
That's a good question somebody answer it ;D
-
My bluebird grill had screws which held vents in place fo the intercooler. I used those. Otherwise use some filler, or liquid nails or something similar. My brother used sealeys no more gaps ::)
-
hehehe i used some shit the people doin our bathroom left behind, some clear waterproof glue thingy, holds as hard as cement, well not really but you get the point!
-
How did u cut the little bars out that are in the trx grill
-
lol i didnt cut anything, i have a ford corsair, i'll get some photos, kinda hard to explain...
-
use a hacksaw blade not attached to the hacksaw so you can get in there properly, and then use sand paper, sand it back, and then respray it. but do that before you attach the mesh
-
lol noss - i`d like to see someone cut the grille if the mesh was already in place :P
-
u cheeky bugger...
i meant spray it before you put the mesh in :P
