Title: Chips & AFM's
Post by: Pure_Sincerity on Jun 25, 2010, 10:32AM
hey, just wandering, if you change your AFM do you have to tune a chip to suit it ? or can you just change it without a change in chip?

thanks....

Your ECU has to be tuned to whatever meter it is using. Why do you want to change it?

just thinking of changing to a bigger one, like from a maxima or rb25det

But it won't do anything, it would just be a waste of time.

gains are very very minimal on standard motors as stock ones dont get anywhere near being maxed out. you wouldnt notice much of a difference.

i would recommend getting one of Nos stage 3 chips tho, i had one on my car and it made it sooooooooooo much nice to drive, just putting around the car becomes so much usable as their is no flat spot at 2.4ishk rpm. id highly recommend one!

no doesnt install just sells them. Just go to a self serve wreakers if u got one near by buy a spare ecu or use the one in ur car take it to a tv repair joint and ask for them to desolder the old chip and solder in the new chip use the search bar, theres a few post about that on who and what to get done :)

and the if u really really really wanted a maf for ur car, get a Q45 one, their fucking MASSIVE! lol bigger than the z32 and apparently cheaper too.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's closed indefinitely. Send him an email / pm.

Larger MAF's are a waste of time on a standard engine. A Maxima or Skyline MAF is rated to max out around 300hp.

i did intend on re-opening garage11 with just chips at the moment, although believe it or not, chips sold the least out of anything. i guess i've saturated the market.

i just simply have not had the time to find new suitable software to operate the shop under and then install and configure as my everday job is currently taking nearly 60hrs a week of my life every week for the last 3-4months.
