hey guys, wondering if i should get a 2.25" exhaust put on my bluey ??? got quote $350 from mr. muffler today... sounds like a reasonable price what do you guys reckon?
-
oh yer its cat back exhaust sports system :D haha wat do u guys think?
-
i only paid 220 from profix and its pretty decent quality... that was like a year ago tho.
-
ahk this one comes with 2 year warranty and the guy really sounded like he knew what he was talkin bout thats why im opting for it...

2.25" would definitely give the Bluey a better flow (have a look under the car at the 90 degrees bend).
Also, for $350, which muffler are they supplying? Do you want max flow and not care how loud it is or you want a slightly restrictive, but quieter muffler.
Have a search on Autospeed website, have a look for giant mufflers. That will give you a good starting point.
I supplied a second hand commodore cat (around $50), a R33 muffler (around $60) and the piping and labour works out to about $190ish.

i'm guessing this is press bent?? I had a 2.25" mandrel bent full system on my u13 sss and it was too big. My bluey was very doughy off the line and the drone was awful. if it's press bent it should be okay.
Not sure where you are from but i'm pretty sure it was mr muffler at sinnamon park who did the exhaust on my brother's R31 coupe and they did a top job! Never ever ever go to Exotic Exhaust in the same area. They did the exhaust on my bluey and it was terrible. Nuts and bolts kept falling off the extractors to the rest of the system, and the gasket kept blowing out too. I think i took it back about 3 or 4 times and i still wasn't happy with it.

wicked how much would u charge for a bluey cat back system??? not sure what kind of muffler yet ne thoughts, i want one that gives me a good rumble :D

My cat back exhaust basically comes from this article:

I'll have to say that if you're after a nice rumble, this cat back might not suit you cos it's fairly quiet.

As I've said before, it cost me 190ish + commodore cat ($50) + R33 muffler ($60). It's done at right price exhaust at Slacks creek (if you're in Brisbane)
Keep us posted of what's your decision. :)
