Hey stooges,
Down the track I am going to upgrade the front to R32 Brakes/Rotors/Calipers Blah Blah.
I was going to get them re drilled to 5 stud and have the rears 5 studded as well than put stock R33 Rims on.
Just wanted to know, if I have them drilled to the Pintara 4X114.3 stud patterns and leave the rears as they are, which factory Nissan Rims will clear them? Don't think the s13 factory rims would but yeah thought I would put a feeler out there. 8)
Did do a search and I know that it would be easier just to get bigger 17 inch rims (obviously not all will clear) but wanted to retain a stock factory look for now.
Btw Kranz, when I did the search I saw your conversion and mate, those Calipers are so dam close to the rim!!
Do you mind If I PM you later on with some questions about this upgrade?

Yep, im also keen to know what will fit. Ive got 4 pot callipers to go on the front of my car and im pretty sure the rims i have now arnt going to fit. Im thinking about going 5 stud so i can fit the rims i want but until i can afford them i might run r32 or s14 stockies. But yeah i want to know if there are any stock 4 stud rims that will clear the brakes.
-
for the record, the diameter of the rim isn't an issue, the disks will clear 15 inch rims - the problem is with caliper->wheel spoke clearance.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any suitable 4 stud stock rims.
-
If it's urgent, just run a spacer for the mean time, just don't do anything stupid with them while their on the car until you save for your new rims.

Yeah I figured that, good example is seeing Krazny's Pic.If it's urgent, just run a spacer for the mean time, just don't do anything stupid with them while their on the car until you save for your new rims.
Actually won't be getting rims for ages, I just wanted to retain the stock look for now. :)
Not really a fan of 300zx rims, like the looks of some of the S14 stock rims but don't think they will clear.
-
I reckon the s14 wheels will fit, all of the nissan 4 potters are about the same dimensions, z32, s14/15, r32/33. Im not saying they will for sure because i havnt tried but if they clear s14 brakes i think they would clear z32 brakes, id risk it :)
-
u guys know s14's are 5 stud right?
-
If your in qld and would like to know if they will clear, i dont mind taking a rim off to test fit.
And am happy to answer any questions regarding the conversion.

Yep, im going 5 stud to fit the rims i want, sounds like alot of screwing around but it wont be that hard.

Yeah forget 4 stud, might just go for 5 stud and get the backs restudded as well. Still can't decide though because I need to find a brake place that is decent to remove the back and have them restudded in Brisbane/Gold Coast.
Btw, found this on the internet...

Don't know if it helps but it something eh.... 8)
-
Can't you just re-drill the discs to suit 4x114.3 and buy wheels with the right offset/spoke design to clear the caliper?
-
the problem is finding rims that clear in 4 stud chris.
-
I understand that, but aftermarket wheels now are cheap..
Look for a random set on boostcruising if you are real strapped for cash.
-
I know wheels that'll fit R32 brakes...
R32 wheels!! *GASP*
Nah but if you could get R32 GT-R stock wheels to fit that'd look awesome...

Actually could get some aftermarket rims but wanted the car to look stock..ish.
OEM look ftw!!! ;D

Very few aftermarket rims will actually clear without spacers. Trust me i tried a massive amount of different rims.
The rims that i ended up buying are a lightweight jap style drifting rim at about $350 per rim...not cheap. But they are designed to clear the brembo brake upgrades on 4 stud hubs.

Lol Cruiser ya stooge.
I think the R33 Rims will clear so may just go for the 5 stud conversion.
Hey Kranz where did you get your Calipers from? Did you get them new from Nissan (would be farkin expensive) or are they 2nd hand off a Skyline?
Also do you feel the U12 Brake Master Cylinder is more than enough to keep up with the R32 Conversion in terms of higher feed of fluid etc?
-
Second hand, then rebuilt using a rebuild kit from the antrx shop.
The U12 master cylinder is more than capable in my opinion. I havnt noticed any difference in pedal feel in terms of it struggling. Obviously braking efficiency is higher though.

Where we're you looking Paul?
No offense man, I know about 20 wheels off the top of my head that will clear easy. However my taste in wheels isn't cheap. So maybe thats the issue.
-
Im talking about your cheapish wheels that will clear. Not your brand name stuff.
-
Found some more info which may help out.

like kranzy i have been looking for wheels that fit for ages, that are not too expensive or need expensive shipping as you are the only buyer. you can get kranzy's g-max wheels or take the easy way out and buy spacers to solve or your problems and run any wheel you like if you can't see any point in going 5 stud.
-
not sure if this is relevant or if you already know this, but jaye has now has a 180sx. his pintara has s13 wheels on it.
-
I'm confused. Lol. I have the GT-ST rims.
