Title: Wheel Bearings
Post by: Marty on Aug 24, 2007, 04:37PM
Are the U13 Aus Spec and attesa the same,
Cause I got quoted ridiculous prices for attesa ones, like $170 fronts $220 rears
but the local ones I could pick up front and rear for $130
I need to do more research but couldnt find listings for attesa bearings any where

Where did you get the quotes from Marty?
Don't go to Nissan for the bearings, make sure you go to a bearing specialist like CBC or Gardner's. They will be much cheaper compared to genuine parts.
Doing front and rear bearings on an Attesa will be a pig of a job.... Good luck!
Dan.

this was supercheap.
I was surprised they even had it on their system, and I could have gotten them that day.

I've helped someone do bearings on my old TRX before, this time I can get hold of a presse so will do it myself.
And yeh it was a bitch to do, massive sockets and extension bars needed.

Good stuff. At least you know what you are up against!
That's the worst bit, you need a press......

CAN SUPPLY FRONT ONLY AT $122.65 PLUS GST PER WHEEL.
REAR WE DO NOT BRING INTO AUST,COMPLETE HUB UNIT.

CBC Bearings & Power Transmission

on a side note, isnt illegal to quote prices not including GST, I usually find its dodgy companies that do this

Most companies that deal with trade customers quote without gst. Notice they always say 'plus gst' after the price ;)

Its still misleading and bad business practice, although not illegal.
I usually find the companies that do this a bit dodgy,
$135 - easy done.

oh crap, thats per wheel, what a joke. they're sold as a set of two, come on.
CBC bearings No Sale For You!

Yeh i got quoted prices for front brakes as individual items and not the set.
Kinda annoying and stupid, but the could be 1 customer that wants 1 disc. why doesnt he buy 2

Sorry to hear that Marty. CBC have usually been good to me, especially when buying obscure type bearings for old motorbikes.
Oh well, it was worth a shot i guess?

Bump, Bump the Jam!.

From ABC Bearings
Quote
Nissan bluebird U13

·        Front wheel bearings $ 55.00 + G.S.T each side  ( front wheel bearings are the same as import)

·        Rear wheel bearings  $ 89.00 + G.S.T each side  ( rear wheel bearings differ from import )

Nissan bluebird U13 ( import )

·        Rear wheel bearings $ 78.33 + G.S.T each side

So many varied replys to this, apparently the fronts are the same just not the backs
But the backs are cheaper for import, Bonus

Just an update
I went to Nissan to get a dizzy cap and rotor and asked about the bearings.
The front bearings are all the same, even same as maxima,
But the rear are different as its AWD and has a different setup.

Getting some from that ABC bearings place, so will put them in next w/e lucky its a long weekend, I think I'm gonna need it

Marty,

How'd you go with this, the wheel bearings in the back of mine are screwed, do you have a part no I can use?
