OK as the title suggests i have a problem with my windscreen wiper, the drivers side one. The first problem which i know there is a solution on the forum i just cant find anymore is that it grinds on the bonnet when i lift the bonnet open. The next problem occurs when the wipers are on, the wiper moves too far to the edge of the windscreen, so I'm unable to put the wipers in the fastest mode because it falls off the windscreen and sticks out the side of the car, it didn't help that the nut holding it on was loose but tightening still doesn't fix the problem. A new problem however occurred, the windscreen wiper just completely stopped working, i have discovered by pulling the covers off, that the piece of metal that connects the drivers side wiper to the passenger side had fallen off, so i naturally have put it back on but its really loose and with t he previously mentioned problem I'm sure it will just fall off again.
Those are the major problems however there is another which i believe to be a part of it, the place where the actual wiper connects to mechanism that turns it, appears to be loose, it look like a rubber seal or something has died and I'm unsure how to fix it..
Anyway thats my Spiel if you can assist me in anyway that would be greatly appreciated

This will tell you how to fix your wiper hitting the bonnet
As for the loose wiper motor, I'd suggest just going and buying another one, or going to a wreckers. They shouldn't cost that much from a wreckers. You don't want to end up like my mate; when he was driving in the rain both of his wipers stopped. No, he didn't stop, the silly bugger just stuck his head out the window and kept driving for about an hour until he met up with us :D
Hope this is of some help. Cheers,
Rob

Oh i know this feeling... I had the plastic mount at the base of the wiper break, when i tried to pull it off the bolts snapped and it was near impossible to get off. I ended up strengthening it with some epoxy resin of some sort and it was fine afterward.
The arm that moves the wipers is a strange one to fall apart on you, surely there are bolts or something that hold it together that you can tighten? maybe put some locktight on these to stop them from comming loose again?

going to a upullit could give you an idea
driving in the rain both of his wipers stopped
I also use "rain off" on my windshield - which would definately help in the above situation.

... right.
Well i solved the problem temporarily like ages ago, all we did was get some heat shrink and jam the arm back onto the joint thus fixing the joint problem, and we got a metal washer and put it around the bottom of the arm at the drivers side (around the shaft) which holds the wiper alot more straight now, so untill i feel the need for a new wiper system thats how its going to stay.

Haha, yeah, too bad he didn't have any. :) I was going to put some on, but then I heard that you shouldn't use your wipers as they will just wipe the stuff away and since I don't do much freeway driving I haven't bothered.
