HICLONE
« on: Sep 20, 2002, 12:40AM »
Does anyone have or know anyone that has tried a Hiclone in their car? They are supposed to increase power by 10-15% and Fuel Econ. by 15-20%. They also are supposed to have a positive effect on engine noise and idling stability. I might be looking at getting on for my car, but I would like to get some genuine opinions first. Anyone got one?  ???

They're a little device that improves the airflow of the carbie or EFi. It causes the air to spiral. They're very easy to install and apparently very cheap.

Goto this website: www.hiclone.com.au for all the info.
Sounds pretty good.

When matt last came to the coast we put it in my car for the night and tested to see if it would make a diff....

At first I thought maybe it made a diff, but at the end of the night me and matt both agreed the difference was very hard to notice.
Honestly cannot tell you if it was better or not.

Apparently you're supposed to drive the car with the Hiclone for about 100kms before it will make any big difference (for 'dechoking' the engine or something). So, no big difference to performance, how about fuel economy?  :-/

Hmmmm well performance wise man not really did not see any diff in performance I had a run against matt with my air con on and we were pretty close, but it was hard for us to tell, more testing would have been needed. Matt did say to me tho that it seemed to help his car in the lower rev range a bit.

Well economy wise well from my advanced calculations from approx 3 hrs use of the Hiclone, hmmm dunno  :P

Just go out and buy one and use it for a couple of weeks if you do not like it then send it back, and get yer mulla...

Dechoking the engine, hmmm dunno about that, it would take like a week of driving to see if there is a difference in economy, but power benefits should be pretty immediate.

there ok fuel economy is better but i got more increase in fuel economy buy using BP ultimate and i got better response

but the main reason i dont think they work great on the ka cars is the small maf housing causing restriction

but Awsometrx's engine didnt need to be decoked cause wee did it before we put it in
