Oil Gauge/Light

Hey, quick question. When I turn my car on, my oil light stays on for a little longer than it usually does. Should I worry? I checked the oil levels, and they are fine.
But get this, today, at the lights, my oil pressure gauge became posessed! It went up and down really quick, bouncing off the pin at the bottom, and the hitting the top and vice versa. Up, Down, Up, Down. It freaked me out! Happened about 5 times! What may have caused this? I know our dash is all electrical, Im thinking it was like some sort of voltage serge or something? I dunno....or could it be a mechanical problem to do with my oil pressure somewhere?

sounds like ur oil pressure sender is on its way out....

......about the oil gauge light....that use to happen on parents vectra.....cant remember wat it was .....but i will ask them....

and about the pressure gauge  indicator ...mine does that all the time ....mainly when it is still coldish .....but its been doing that for ages so ....i see no problem with it.. ;D

So is this a bad thing or something  I shouldnt worry about? Is it costly $$$$

well the bouncing oil gauge indicator ....hasn't caused me a problem yet ......the light might be a problem...could be just electrical or a fault like what aussie gli said ...prob best just to take to a mechanic andssee wat they say....about both probs
