i'm new and just bought a 1991 trx
« on: Jul 1, 2005, 04:26PM »
Hi all... i'm from perth, just wanted to join you all as i have just today picked up my 1991 Pintara TRX (white, auto)
paid $2800 for it, needs a real good clean and a buff, but the engine runs reallllllly well, and the air conditioner works great..
there is a missing centre bit on the front spoiler though.. how much for one of those???, and a bit of a leak on the exhaust manifold. apparantly all that needs doing is to change the gasket.. any one know who easy it is to do and the part number for it????
i've booked it in for some reflective tint in 2 weeks, and just got to find a stereo deck (standard atm) got 2 amps and a sub sitting waiting at home....
anyways, i'll report on my progress as i'm going... i'm really happy with the car and how it runs.. i'm amazed at the condition of the engine for a 14 year old car... (traded up from a 1987 exa CA16de.. no comparision!!!)

welcome to antrx quansta.

Good to see your are modding the car already, if you do run into any problems or are wondering what can be done to the trx then you'll probably find the answer on these forums.

Most technical issues have been covered at some stage or another already so if you do get a problem with the car just do a search of the forum first and it may have already been solved!

I'm not sure of the part number myself but if you ring repco and tell them you want an exhaust manifold gasket for your ka24e Pintara they'll be able to quote you a price. Or you can ring Nissan if you have had a big pay check this week. ;)

Get some pictures up if you like so we can have a look at that front lip that your missing.

thanks for that... i had a good read of these forums before i decided to buy the car, and everyone seems to say that the car is very reliable and the engines are good, no major repairs.. so it must have been a good sign.
will post pics when i get a chance
cheers

well depending on the kms and the condition of the engine... the only major things u may need to do is replace CV joints and/or timing chain...
I'm sick of my knob going all floppy and loose in my hand  :P

Just be careful you don't break off any of the studs, if you do or if any of them are broken then you won't be able to finish the job yourself.
