screeching brakes? most likely cause?
« on: Nov 10, 2008, 06:07PM »
orrite guys, this is about the last part of the car i needa get fixed up at the moment.
when i come up 2 a corner or red lights i shove the brakes on... they screech the really high pitch noise, but this doesn't happen all the time, if i put the brakes on really hard they dont seem to do it... anyone got any idea what it could be? maybe just need new brake pads or something?

thanks for the help in advance

if your discs are mirror shiny they need to be machined (and pads replaced) any mechanic/tyre & brake shop can do it. you shouldn't be able to see any reflection at all.

Is that a pair or all 4?

Think i got mine done for $180 (two days after roadworthy).

Thought pads were about $45 for 2 corners.

im guessing difference between standard and ultimates is only lifetime?
i'll havta make sure its a full set of 4 not just a pair, may as well get them all done at the same time

damn wish my EBC's were that cheap.
I get the high pitched squeal, but if you apply the brakes then back off all the way then reapply the brakes the squeal isnt there.
Also im up for new rotors sometime soon. Jamie what were the prices again on the DBC's ?
