Some input required on Error code 34
« on: Mar 3, 2010, 08:45PM »
Hey guys,

I had a bit of drama yesterday. The top tank of my radiator had burst. Of course the car overheated. I had to stop and go a couple of times to get the car to a safe place where it's towed to radiator shop. After I had the radiator fixed, the car is running rough (boy it sounds like a boxer engine :) ). It sounds like 1 cylinder is not firing.

I've check the error code to be 34 (Knock sensor). I've disconnected the battery to reset the ECU - problem still here

Starting unplugging individual spark plug cable, spark for each one. It seems like 2nd cylinder (looking at engine, 2nd from left) is not running. Engine oil looks fine. I hope that cylinder 2 has not seized up.

What else can I do?
What are my options now?

Thanks guys for taking time to read this. :)

Thomas

Problem fixed with cylinder not firing, it's the combination of weak spark and spark plug gapping on cylinder 2.
The knock sensor error is still coming up. Anyone have a working spare knock sensor I can borrow or buy off?
I'm in Brissy.

Still slight hesitation on acceleration otherwise running well (probably knock sensor related again).

Thanks everyone.  :)
