Title: new to the pintara world!
Post by: jsejms on Jul 10, 2014, 12:55AM
Hey guys,
Im looking at buying a 1990 pintara trx, ka24e its looking extremely tidy and only had 1 owner with service history and all the rest. Its done 160xxx kms and auto.  The price tag on it is $2000 but it looks really nice. What are the common problems and things that go wrong/I should look for when I go to look at it?
Thanks in advance :)

What sort of km range does the timing chain start to deteriorate?

So ive just talked to the owner, in the paperwork they have for the work done on pintara, its had the timing chain done, new engine mounts, rebuilt torque converter, heap gasket has been changed, new exhaust system, wheel bearings are new, new tyres, service history for the life of the car with documentation of the milage and dates everything has been done to it. Owned by 1 family. And its immaculate!  For $2000, good deal? Haha
