all the performance links you need for your u12

this was really made for people that arent capable of clicking the search button. you now have no excuses.

there are plenty of mods on offer for the ka24e if you wish to put the hard yards in and do some research. mods you will find on the internet range from lame thru to decent and then farily hardcore. also dont limit your searches to the online shopping sections of websites. put in a little more effort. use the phone book, use google (or your preferred search engine), talk to people, go to the library, not everything is done for you all the time.

before you start

when you are modding your pintara, stanza or corsair, a good first stop is this thread here:

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=1373;start=0#msg13581

this thread is a brief run thru on the basic steps of modifying your u12

when I mentioned mods above ranging from lame to hardcore, an example of lame = electric superchargers. dont let anyone convince you these are any good. they sound good in theory, but if you are going to opt for forced induction, do it properly, dont waste your time or your money with these things.

http://www.teamnse.com/forum/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=700701138

autospeed also has a fantastic article on electric superchargers which will help you to understand exactly why they are a waste of your time and money. This article can be found here:

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_0237/article.html

exhausts, hi-flow cat converters, extractors and cold air intakes

these mods are definately worth your time, and as you'll see in the "beginners guide to modding..." thread you will see that things like exhaust & intake mods are the building blocks for a great car.

exhaust mods

http://www.teamnse.com/forum/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=700377 - for the most part, this thread really only talks about mufflers. but mufflers are just as important as the rest of your exhaust. Your choice of muffler will effect the overall flow of the exhaust gasses, but they will also dictate the note of your exhaust and how loud it will be.

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?topic=3321.0 - fitting the magna cat to your ka24e u12

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_1788/article.html - a good tech article on using larger oem cats as an upgrade for your pintara.

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=405;start=0#msg3816 - this thread talks about exhausts & the results people have experienced

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=718;start=0#msg7583 - this thread talks about similar stuff as the previous one

http://www.teamnse.com/forum/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=700701088 - there is a bit of techincal info about extractors here if you wish to take the time to sift thru it.

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=1845;start=0#msg19774 - this is straight & to the point about the results of a set of extractors

cold air intakes

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=812;start=15#msg12281 - this thread talks about cold air intakes & some of the theory behind how they work.

http://www.teamnse.com/forum/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=700282;start=10 - some basic cai stuff

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_1798/article.html - a good tech article on a simple cold air setup.

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=769;start=0#msg7305 - also dont forget pod filters and panel filters, this is a good thread explaining everything you need to know about high flow air filters

agressive cams and fuel management

once you've covered breathing mods, you will want to start to look at cams and/or fuel management. if you're going to go turbo, its probably best that until you have your turbo package sorted out, installed and running, you should leave your camshaft as stock.

camshafts

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=1113 - antrx does cams for the ka24e, this thread has all the info you will need.

solid lifter conversion

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=1559 - all the info as its happens on the antrx ka24e solid lifter conversion. Solid lifters are essential for the higher spec’d antrx cams.

fuel management (chips, piggyback and stand alone)

below is a list of threads with information on all kinds of fuel management. dont even bother with things like the apexi power fc, as they're a complete waste of time and a complete waste of your money. if you think the apexi power fc is for you, maybe you should spend your money a little wiser & buy something like a uni chip.

http://www.teamnse.com/forum/index.php?board=9;action=display;threadid=700701055;start=0

http://www.perfectpower.com/ - the official website for the smt6 piggy back ecu. definately money well spent. lots of features for your dollars. Both myself and sssgtr highly recommend these units.

http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-Auto~Performance-Electronics~Product-No-5075.htm - read here about the greddy e-manage, another capable piggy back ecu but its a bit simpler than the smt6 & doesnt have a lot of the bells & whistles that some people would like, however it is still an excellent product.

http://www.unichip.com.au/ - the official unichip website. nismo/siktrx used to run a unichip in his trx with great results.

http://www.haltech.com/ - the official haltech site

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_1956/article.html - part 1 of a 3 part series on autospeed about aftermarket management

porting, polishing and valve jobs

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=20;action=display;threadid=445;start=0#msg4316 - this is an excellent thread on diy porting and polishing.

one thing a lot of people forget about are the most important things. handling, braking & driveline mods. you cant just whack on go fast bits and expect to not have to upgrade any of these important items.

brakes are an extremely important part of any performance package. You can buy slotted rotors for your u12 from dba, or, you could upgrade to an r32 brake package.

Dba’s official website can be found here: http://www.dba.com.au

driveline

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_0180/article.html - a good tech article on clutch selection

http://www.antrx.com/smf/index.php?board=16;action=display;threadid=1237 - some info about adelaide clutch in australia, and my personal response to an adelaide clutch multi button clutch.

in america you readily have a choice of act clutches, you can buy them here http://www.coximport.com/act/nissan.html and at many other stores.

i will be continually adding to this list as i think of more to add.
