They do alright...just not in the important games!

All i can say is watch those blues next year, i rekon it'll be a better year then the one we've just had.

Blues finished well this year...dunno about next year for them. I envisage them around 9th/10th. In a couple of years, they should come good.

the only reason victoria plays afl is because nsw plays rugby league. i'm sure if nsw played afl victoria would have played rugby league

and i guess that south australia invented democracy and sanitary plumbing too?

Yeah we will have a better year next year...probably finish just outside the 8, but in a few years time we will be on fire like the good old days

if we're going to get technical, Australian Rules Football was first played by a bloke named Tom Wills and his friends in the Richmond Paddock on July 31, 1858.

Oh and the South Australian Football Association was formed in May 1877

I was given the book "100 years of Australian Football" 4 or 5 years ago, ive never really read much of it but i knew it would come in use

if we're going to get technical, Australian Rules Football was first played by a bloke named Tom Wills and his friends in the Richmond Paddock on July 31, 1858.

Geez i thought that was common knowledge.

maybe victoria had a league between 3 or 4 clubs way back when but the VFL was created after the SANFL

i think even the WAFL was created b4 the VFL

Browny if you want to get really technical...AFL was originally played up in the northern territory as an aboriginal game. Basically was no rules and they played with a rolled up piece of leather, then a few guys decided to make up some rules to use and walla...the vfl/afl/sanfl was created.

I must say that that was the best final i have watched in a long time. Altough i was supporting the saints...well done to the power. looks like they'll have to choke next week

So??? Victoria had the V.F.A. before the V.F.L. its only really a name, the point is Victoria was playing football before South Australia, it could also be argued that Tasmania was playing football before South Australia, but we wont get into that debate

My old man is a walking football encyclopeidia!
I dont know where he got the info from but when i see him ill ask him. Basically AFL was first played with rules and as a competition in victoria. It could have been played anywhere else before victoria played it but it became an official sport in victoria.

Being a mad collingwood supporter, i hope their heads finally explode and geelong (as much as i hate to say) kick their arse.

Every collingwood supporter out there must be against the lions. We cant let this side of cheap "pay cutting" pricks equal the legendary feats of the pies premiership record from '27 - '30!

If they win tonite, they better watch out during the grand final parade through the city cos it would be unfortuante if one of the parade cars crashed or maybe blows up...

Go to hell brisbane, stick to rugby.

scrappy, tight , low scoring game. it was a close thing until brissy got those couple of quick goals in the last 1/4.
