You've pretty much answered your own question. :)  The VG30 tune is for the VG30 AFM (Maxima). If you leave stock AFM your going to have said problems. To reconfirm put the stock ECU back in to make sure it not anything else but I'm 100% sure its to do with your new chip (tune).

Not many MAJOR differences between S1 and S2, one example are the side indicators are different.

Ill fight you. May even throw a bar of soap your way. Maybe a few wax strips and some clip on brembo brake calipers for your fooly sic civic.

Yeah I figured, the stock ecu runs it perfect so I'll hook up the vg30 maxima air flow meter on the weekend and see how I go :)

Either install the maxima afm, or swap back your stock chip and keep the stock afm in for the moment.

You will never get the maxima afm tuned chip to run with the stock afm.

+1 the whole point of the tuned chip (for maxima afm) is so it can run on the maxima afm (no real suprises there). i had similar troubles when i wasz trying to swap a stage 3 chip in for a rb25 afm no end of trouble, running rich, shit idle etc etc. ended up ditching it cause i cbf trying to rectify it. i have a feeling noss may have forgot to tune the chip for the rb25 afm but i understoodx he was/is busy and wasnt overly phased by it.

when hooking up the vg30 afm make sure the wires do in the correct spots too.

From what I have read the wires between the ka AFM and vg AFM are colour coded so it's an easy match cept the vg AFM has 2 earths which you can either connect 1 or both vg earths to the 1 ka earth.

Correct me if I'm wrong people.

Btw I was just making sure my car would start with the new chip.

I know noss is not around here much these days, but if I can find a source for the correct speed eeproms our ecus use, I can do the mods required in the chip to suit any nissan maf.

ok boys new problem, what should i do about this afm ? it obviously wont hook up to the stock air box although the old man seems to have this idea of jus making extra holes and bolting the fucker on, I mean that aint gonna work is it ?

my idea was to get that new K&n apollo setup before the afm. would that require a maxima afm adaptor aswell ? also i know i will need the piping afer the afm what do you guys have in mind ?

for the pipe after, get some 3" exhaust pipe with a 30deg bend and a T piece put on it for the vac hoses.  Few rubber adaptors and you'll be sweet.
I think just bolting it onto airbox probably would work but I wouldnt do it as a long term solution.

its possible to hook the maxima afm to the stock airbox with a bit of modifcation, i did it for pedro, i have a scar on my left hand to prove it!

can't remember exactly what we did, but a few extra holes in the airbox and cut back the corrugated piping.

the best option though would be to install either 3" or 2.5" piping as the corrugated pipe is detrimental to airflow.

+1 the whole point of the tuned chip (for maxima afm) is so it can run on the maxima afm (no real suprises there). i had similar troubles when i wasz trying to swap a stage 3 chip in for a rb25 afm no end of trouble, running rich, shit idle etc etc. ended up ditching it cause i cbf trying to rectify it. i have a feeling noss may have forgot to tune the chip for the rb25 afm but i understoodx he was/is busy and wasnt overly phased by it.

when hooking up the vg30 afm make sure the wires do in the correct spots too.

i thought you had fixed it? i had sent a few chips and had no response. there is a possibility it wasn't the right afm. there 6 different afms that are commonly used, z32 na, z32 turbo, rb25 na, rb25 turbo, rb20, maxima vg30 and then if you're a nutter the vq45 one.

anyway, if sss can't help you  then you can send an email to [email protected] which comes to my mobile phone so you'll be able to get me there, i'm not here much as because people have said, busy with work mostly and i'm just not having the time to get on here.

yeah the k&n apollo kit is awesome i run it in my trx and i think eurisko ran one in his. the price of them just keeps going up though. def a good option mate, i highly recomend it. the only thing i may change is some pvc piping from the front fog light up to the pod itself, the flexy pipe doesnt provide the best flow and is too twisted around the battery etc for my liking.

Noss, from memory we exchanged a chip that wasnt working for a one that should but with no result, i didnt receive any other chips though.... the problem still aint fixed but it doesnt bother me that much atm. i may try and hook it up aain at some stage soon.

p.s someone buy my damn rims too!!!!!

I'll recheck next time I'm parked on level ground. I was pulled over for a bullshit random license and rego check and they visually inspected the car. He looked underneath at the height and didn't think it was low enough to test.

Worst case would be the u brackets for the front swaybar.

Brenden's car (noss's old springs) is below legal. I think the only things that are too low are the front swaybar mounts.

As far as I know the lowest legal ride height was always 100mm. Coke cans are about 130mm tall.

LC_TRX from memory some douche expected you to sell your rims for $100 lol I'll go to the wreckers and grab a new airbox for the u12 and hide another maxima Afm inside it and just pay for the box lol, because I know the people the box will be like $15, than I'll fuck around with with it and see if I can attach it without it leaking air.

yes, from when the car was in an accident. it wasn't gutter. the car spun at 110km/hr and i still only got the slightest of scuffing on one wheel.

now get back to starting your car.

my mini has a bit of a scuff on one of the wheels as well.. from when some dopey bitch sideswiped me a few days after getting the car.

moral of the story? i can navigate gutters.

anyway, i don't really care about the wheels. i sold them, you do what you want with them. i'm just stirring, cause i do what i wanna.

Funny enough, that Trx now has a ka24de in it with itbs and megasquirt issues :p
