So today i have fixed a couple of nagging issues with my car. One being the whole plastic dash which holds your cd head unit and all your hazard lights etc. So i ripped the old one off and discovered someone has unsuccessfully tried to repair it by gluing it back together and naturally enough it has come undone again. A very bodgey job by anyones standards. Off to Capalaba wreckers i go to find a suitable plastic dash for my car and lo and behold one sits in a U12 pintara with all it's windscreen smashed in and glass all over the seats
45 minutes later (dont ask, had to change screwdrivers 3 times) they let me get it out myself and covered in glass i match it to the one in my car - Perfect fit!. The one small problem was that this 'fancy' pintara had electric windows and a little dial for the electrics way over on the right hand side where usually there is just a gap, or a small filler piece of plastic.
Anyways, $30 later i drag it home and find out someone has mounted the er.. 'mount' for my head unit upside down and POP RIVETED it to the unit itself, HAH!
Ok.. undefeated i pliered the rivets loose and screw my dash back to the way it should be and now when i go around a right hander at any speed the whole unit doesnt fall to bits and it's very well secured some part of the chassic itself with chain and a metal clamp.
Now for my other small issue: Does anyone know HOW the plastic top tank for a radiator on a Ford Corsair is fitted? It looks like some sort of press for which i would have to go to a radiator specialist however i don't want to pay big bickies.
