« on: Nov 23, 2004, 12:00AM »
hi there

would any one know or any one done a convertion from a hot wire Rb20DET AFM to a R31 pinny CA20E???

i know that i may need to change plug, what else do i need?

Can it be done without changing the ECU?

you'll need to perform ecu modifications.. either that or a piggy back unit.. piggy back unit would be easier as i dont know anyone that knows anything about the r31 ca20e ecu

And there's not much I can say
But we miss you every day
And I'm bitter 'cause it's unfair
We'll be drinkin' in the sun
Playing music having fun
Cause one day I'll see you there

yeah, why downgrade. thats just plain stupid. bigger is better. and so are the newer turbo parts. by the sounds of this thread you have an rb20 turbs and want to downgrade the already small afm to an even worse one??? i dont follow...

not all aussie built cars are holden or ford...

He's considering changing to the rb20det afm,  which has a larger bore. Much larger at 73m, inside diameter, 3" outside.
It may not make much difference ,as on a low output motor, the original afm is not restricting sigificantly.

It would not be a downgrade though.
