97 BLUEBIRD Head Unit Install HELP
« on: Dec 28, 2008, 08:48PM »
Hi,

I'm trying to install a new head unit. Where do I start unscrewing?

So far, I've unscrewed 2 screws pointing upwards, just above the old unit.

i've found 2 hexagonal shaped screwheads behind the rear ash tray (could be undone but not required?)

I've found 2 plastic caps with square holes in the middle, positioned towards the middle of the car, near the left knee (if in drivers seat), and same on other side.  Undo these??

Where do I start my attack?

Thankyou very much, I'm a newbie. Help appreciated!!

rear ash tray dont need to come out
Your right with the two above the head unit.
Remove the gear boot and plate ( if its a manual, autos should a similiar set of screws) there are two screws under the plate
theres two screws where drivers left knee is below the wood trim.
From there the trim around the stereo should come off.
Then its just a few more screws holdin stereo in
