Bunch of import Qs
« on: Sep 21, 2006, 10:00PM »
Got a number of questions in regard to the u13 (HNU13 ?? Bluebird sss import) for a crazy idea i just had:

What is the split of the drive in the car (65% fwd, 35 rwd ??)

How hard would it be to to remove drive to the front wheels? (dont ask just answer :P)

Does the suspnsion match up with any other more common models ie silvia, 180sx, cefiro etc? for example to get some coilovers to fit......

meh ill think of more as they come to mind

cheers

Drive I am sure is 60% rear and 40% front.
Removing the front shafts, the car wont move. Its not like the Evo's or WRX gearboxes.
Coilovers, use GTIR spec, but they require abit of modification on the back.

I take it you wanna drift.
Your car may be able to go faster.
But I can go any where. except into a garage, underground carpark, bridge...

2 sticks and manual locking hubs. have to get out to drive it around
Good old Nissan.

KA's are the shit. According to all the info on the site, they are better then sliced bread and thats saying something.

Drive is 50/50 constant split with viscous centre diff distributing torque front/rear as needed.

There is an Avenir in NZ that has been converted to RWD.  Same basic gearbox/transfer case setup as the bluebirds.  It was not an easy conversion from what little I have read.

Easiest way for constant rwd would be to lock (weld?) the centre diff and not have driveshafts - you'd need to sort something about those holes though, you can't just leave them open!

There are D2 coilovers that fit, suspension from other common models does not afaik.

If you're thinking of trying to drift one.........it could get expensive, in fact very expensive very quickly. You'd have the disadvantages of:
- transverse layout (for maintenance like clutch and gearbox changes, a pita)
- not an overly strong gearbox (but if used in rwd it might be acceptable i suppose)
- a reasonably heavy car for the engine size (it's around 1400kg worth)
- although D2s fit, i'm not sure they'd be a great thing for track. you'd probably end up spending a lot on suspension sh*t trying to get it right

Also I wouldn't be a fan of it, the cars positive is that nobody really knows what they are, and nobody normally sees anyone doing burnouts or slides in a bluebird so they're assumed innocent by the general public. Don't change that please.

I have to agree with Budgie, I'm pritty sure its 50/50 and the torque is distrubuted front to rear by the center diff.

Iv herd of center diffs being welded to turn awd cars into rwd but I have no idea if that works with an attesa.

D2 makes coilovers for the u13, I have these fitted to my Attesa and they work well.

DAM you Phreeky you beat me to it!
