Rise and shine!
« on: Jan 20, 2006, 02:56AM »
I've oft wondered, when do you folk get up in the morning, if left to your own devices?  That is, if you have no appointments in a given day, what time do you go to bed, and what time do you rise in the morning.  Similarly, how many hours do you sleep?  And what is your age?

I'm 22, and I still quite happily stay up till 2-3am and get up around 10-11am.  My body seems to most enjoy 10 hours of sleep, though.

I usually sleep for about 7-1/2 hours, and try not to sleep any longer than 9 hours no matter what, otherwise I feel crap from oversleeping.

I woke up at like 5:40 this morning because I heard lighting blow up a tree in the bush behind the house, great alarm clock that! :P

i barely average 6 hours a night.  go to bed at 1ish, wake up at 7ish.  and i feel crap every morning up until about 10ish, which is when i perk up.

admittedly tho, i manage to get an extra 40 minutes each way on the train, but its not a good sleep, very disturbed with all the tipping off the seats and stopping at the stations.

generally doesnt matter when i go to bed i usually sleep till about 10-11. if i've been out and drinking though i can get to bed at five and be wide awake again at 6 and go all day without being tired. im that weird. and if im at someone elses house i usually on sleep lightly. normally, i zone out. i could sleep through world wars 3 through to 7. :P

eg: my brother tried to wake me up early once by putting metallica on full blast. didnt work. he had to come in and lift the mattress and flick it down. then i only barely woke up. :P and i hadnt been drinking or been up late or anything. just a normal nite. :P heavy sleeper.

Thats extremely bizarre, because i do exactly the same thing.  after a night of drinking, i'll tend to wake up quite early.  and surprisingly well-tempered

yeah like others, i tend to wake up early-ish whenever i drink, no matter what time i got to bed.

i'm pretty sure its from being at uni and stayin up late, but i really can't get to sleep anytime before midnight! Though (also from being at uni) i've discovered having nap-naps during the day if i get a chance and tired enuf - suppose that's really why i can't get to sleep b4 12!?!?

If i have to get up early for work or school or whatever (ie: other "appointments"), i can get up - tho sometimes it is a bit of a struggle. Then on days off, body usually likes to sleep in til all buggery, as long as i don't have to do anythin in particular for that day. Tho i try to get up at 11 am most days and go do sum form of exercise.

If i don;t do any exercise for like even 3-4 days, my body feels super sluggish and i try and either go for a ride, or spin class at gym, or weights or core body work at gym.
If somebody asks you, "can I ask you a question?" and you say, "no",  you're actually answering a question. Think about it....

I might usually go to bed around 1am ish, always up looking at forums and stuff :P getup 7.30 odd. So thats, six-something hours. I like more, but infact if I sleep too much (Anything more than 8-9 hours) I wake up with a really bad headache and I will feel like shit all day. So for me it's important not to oversleep!

If I stay up all night, I'll usually collapse mid-morning (9ish), get a couple hours sleep, and be fine for the rest of the day. Similarly I like occasional hour naps in the evening.

If I'm not at home, I have an odd habit of waking up really early. I stayed up the coast with some others for a couple of nights, once in a bed and once sortof on the floor (foam matress), both times I was up around 6am. Anytime I go away anywhere, it happens. No idea why.

i really have no routine, well i used to, before i started uni, but i don't anymore.  i can normally survive on about 7-8hrs sleep, but i can get up before if need be. (can also sleep heaps later if given the opportunity :P)

last week had to get up before 5:00am for two mornings in a row for work but still didn't go to bed until about midnight. mind you, getting under 5 hrs sleep wasnt intentional, that's just me being hopeless.

oh yeah im 20 btw

one of my friends only sleeps for between 3 and 4 hours every night, cant sleep any more than that. she doesnt go to bed until 3:00 or 4:00 am and is up by 7:00 or 7:30  i think thats pretty crazy :o

My sister recently got married; she works in an office and her husband is a carpetlayer and starts work at 5.30am.  So now they're both getting up at 4am so they can spend time together in the morning! If it wasn't so cute, I think I'd consider it morbid :P

In bed normally between 11-1 and wake up at 6 for work...either leave the gold coast at 7am to get to work or the girlfriends house at 7.30...gettting up at 6 all the time gives me an extra half hour with the girl in the morning.

I get to bed between 11 and 12 and always up at 6.30 no matter what day, i wish iwas like some other people on here and could catch an hour or two durin the day. This only changes when im out drinkin and then if i get three hours im lucky, i usually wake up feelin shit but come good bout lunch. Today was an exception, got to bed at 3am and up and at work by 9.30 (1.5 hrs late) and still feel like shit!

Since ive finished year 12 i now cant get to sleep until atleast 3:30am and then i wake around 12 noon.

Although when ive been drinking ill wake up and feel completely fine at pretty much exactly 6am every time. Dont usually get hungover unless i mix or drink beer.
