Twin electric fan diagram?
« on: Mar 22, 2005, 08:02AM »
Hi everybody. I have a 1992 Pathfinder(US Model) and I'm swapping the fans from a early 90s Stanza to replace my crappy clutch fan.  :D My friend is also doing this swap on his S14 with the same fan unit.

The pics I have are pretty big so here's links:

I know both fans are 2-speed, but I'm not sure how to connect the wires. If somebody has any info on this that would be great.

edit: just noticed a huge thread for requests from the Service Manual, so I'll check there.

the fan speed is controlled by the stanza ecu, so you wont be able to hook up your fans the same way.

you could hook the fans up to a temperature sensor of some kind which turned on the fans once the sensor detected a certain temperature or maybe have them manually swtiched from inside the cabin. thats just a few ideas anyway, i'm sure someone else might have some other ideas as to how to make it work.

I messed around with it for a bit and figured it out. Still not sure what the middle wire on the plug is for, but the two side ones are positive and the black wire is the ground for sure.

I might use a thermostat, if I can find one locally for cheap. Both fans will need to be on switches so they can be off for deep water crossings. Yay, even more switches lol

Thanks

Will
