hey. bit of a prob

my temp gauge works wen it wants. im pretty sure its the tacho and not the sensor. how can i check it?
and also is it easy to wire up a new temp tacho?

sorry uni farked my head up, typing isnt my fortay today

my temp sensor works when it wants, im not sure wat the cause of it is. either the tacho or the sensor, and how do i check this?
if its the tacho, im goin to get another one, and would it be easy to wire up?

I'm still confused Matt.  Why would your tachometer be affecting your temp sensor anyway?

Does the needle sometimes not come up on the temp guage?

i think he meant to type temperature gauge instead of tacho. 

Have you checked that the wiring is connected to the sensor properly and hasnt come loose?  also the sensor may be stuffed,  it shouldnt cost any more than $30 for a non genuine one, they simply screw in and out. 

It might also just be extremely dirty and corroded causing it not to functon properly, you can try sanding the sensor with sand paper so the brass is nice and shiny.

the temp sensor should be located either on the thermostat housing or where the upper radiator house goes into the head.

The gauge gets stuck, so you tap it and it should spring up, ooorrrrr the solder tracks are brokin on the dash circuit board
