Not sure I understand....did i write this in turkish?

ok, so whilst in my boredom @ work, i'm having a quick look through the FSM.

56 wires shown in the J64 ecu connector.

Pins 23, 15, 7, 108 and 14 go to the consult connector. leave the std ecu connected to these; they do not need to be connected to MS2 in any way.

Pin 43 is the power steering switch; it signals the ecu when steering load is high, therefore to bump up the idle speed. you can probably leave this as is, since you'll get MS2 to contol idle. I am not sure if there is an input to allow you to use the PS switch to increase idle speed through MS2.

Pins 16 & 17 are for the MAF; I am assuming you are getting rid of this since you're going to ITB's and running a MAP sensor instead. You can probably terminate these 2 connections with a resistor of the same load as the MAF when it is say, drawing minimal load. This is so the std ecu does not throw the ECM light at you 24/7.

Pins 22, 30, 31 & 40 are the CAS. Only tee into these to get CAS signal into MS2.

Pin 28 is unused, unless you have an auto.

Pins 37, 20, 33 and 44 are TPS / TPS idle, just tee into these to get a signal to MS2.

Pins 18, 26 and 21 are for water temp and air temp, tee into these to get a signal to MS2.

Pin 32 is your speed signal from the gearbox, tee into it for MS2.

Pin 41 is the Air Con signal, are you keeping it? If so, i think MS2 can be tee'd into this to compensate for additional load when the AC is running.

Pin 35 is gear position (in manuals, it only detects if it's in neutral), leave this one alone.

Pins 107, 108, 116, 48, 39, 13 & 6 are all engine earths; leave these alone. DO NOT GROUND THE MS2 THROUGH THESE. You will introduce noise and it will cause you many headfucks.

Pin 19 is the O2 sensor, connect this directly to MS2. It does not need to be connected to the standard ecu anymore.

Pin 34 is the start signal from the ignition switch, tee into this for MS2.

Pin 2 drives the tacho, leave this alone. This pin is why you still want a CAS signal to the ecu, apart from stopping the ECM light from coming on 24/7.

Pins 3, 1 and possibly 36 go direct to MS2, these pins drive the ignition coil and power transistor (to charge the coil).

Pin 42 is the rear demister, leave as is.

Pins 9 & 10 drive the relays to switch on the radiator fans, these can go direct to MS2 since it will be controlling fans from now on.

Pin 27 is a signal to the ecu for when the cornering lights are on / low beams are on / high beams are on...i'm assuming to bump up the idle from increased electrical load. Leave these as is, they don't need to go to MS2...same reason as above for the PW switch (Pin 43).

Pins 12, 106 & 105 are SCV, FPR and Charcoal Canister Purge control solenoids. If you are getting rid of these, you can disconnect these wires completely.

Pin 113 is the AAC valve, disconnect this as it will be driven by MS2.

Pins 109 & 4 are 12v from the EGI relay. Leave these alone.

Pin 104 is fuel pump switch, when the ecu sees it is on (ie key in on pos), this pin switches on the fuel pump. Can be disconnected and controlled by MS2 i think (moreso should be able to!)

Pins 101, 110, 103 & 112 drive the injectors. MS2 will drive these, so disconnect them from the std ecu.

Pins 47, 46 & 38 are all 12v. Leave these as is.

Pin 24 is the pin that switches on the ECM lamp. Disconnect this if you don't ever want the ECM lamp in the cluster to light up again.

Nah I had a few questions in there mate. Perhaps you over read them.

 Standard ECU:                          Megasquirt 2:

Dizzy & crank angle sensor        (-) is 2 (+) is 24 unsure which 2 wires go to +/- as it doesnt display in FSM
22/30 green/black                                 Tee in for signal
31/40 green/yellow

^ 22 and 30 have to go to either positive or negative, than 31 and 40 go to the other, but I can't figure which goes to which.

TPS/TPS idle                             (5verf) is 26 (signal) is 22, 4 wires with 2 inputs, what goes where ?
37 light green/red                                  Tee in for signal
20 white
33 yellow/white
44 yellow

^ 4 wires with 2 inputs ( 5verf and signal) what goes where ?

Gearbox speed
32 red/blue                               (unknown pin) - Tee in for signal

^ no idea on ms2 pin to run this

ignition coil output (-)
36 black/white                           36 - direct maybe ?

^ I the (-) of the ignition coil a direct connection to the ms2 ? I would guess it is.

Power transistor                        NO CLUE
3 yellow/red
1 white

^ as stated.

Radiator fans                            (both unknown pins) - Direct connection
9 orange/blue
10 orange

Same as gearbox speed, no idea on pin to run these.

Fuel pump switch/relay
104 red/blue                               30 - direct maybe ?

^ is the fuel pump a direct connection seeing as its not a sensor but it's something needed to be controlled ?

Sorry for the ignorance or cluelessness. But ya know :p

Ignition coil output is a direct connection to the ms2.

Gearbox speed and thermo fans can be left an controlled by the stock ecu.

And I would say the fuel pump/switch relay would be a direct connection also.

Still clueless on the rest.

Does the power transistor have to be connected to the ms2 ?

I doubt the ms2 is able to drive the ignition coil directly, you may find that the ms2 ignition output is actually the trigger for the power transistor, aka the ignitor.

The ignitor receives the signal from the ecu, and drives the ignition coil by telling it when to discharge to the distributor lead.

So I would say the ignition coil would just be tee'd in for signal than leave the power transistor attached to the stock ecu ?

If you do it like that, you will not be able to use the timing maps in the ms2.

the ignitor controls ignition timing by firing the coil.

I hate megasquirt. lol

I think I may just provide the 2 diagrams to an auto electrician as tell him to tell me what goes where.

I just want to know what goes where without the bullshit LOLS. But everyone knows you can't mod a pintara without it haha.

Any word on this guys ?

The rest of the MS2 is wired in:
-Injectors (Direct)
-Coolant temp sensor (teed in)
-o2 sensor (direct)
-Air temp sensor (teed in)
-Fuel pump relay (direct)
-Pins 15,16,17,18,19 are all engine grounds, diagram states to have them earthed to the negative side of the battery, so that's what I've done. (Direct)

Also, "Pins 3, 1 and possibly 36 go direct to MS2, these pins drive the ignition coil and power transistor (to charge the coil)." Quote from SSS.

Pins 3,1 & 36 on the stock ecu are:
3-ignition reference voltage
1-ignition signal input
36-ignition voltage.

But the MS2 only caters for "ignition output" which is pin 36 in the MS2, so I left the others attached to the stock ecu and direct connected pin 1 from the stock ecu which is "ignition signal input" (power transistor) to the MS2 pin 36 "ignition output"

Yes, this is also in my project thread, this may help people in the future, but I am also still looking for these answers

sorry, looks like i called pin 1 "ignition signal input" when it should be "ignition signal output".

pin 1 from the std KA ecu should go to pin 36 on the MS2.

The MS2 caters for 2 inputs for the throttle position sensor,
- TPS SIGNAL
&
- 5+ VERF

And my ecu has 4

Pin 20- TPS INPUT
Pin 33- IDLE SWITCH INPUT
Pin 37- TPS REFERENCE.
Pin 44- IDLE SWITCH POWER.

on the diagram for the stock ecu I had made the TPS reference RED, The TPS input BLUE and sensor return black.

I wired the megasquirt TPS SIGNAL to TPS INPUT from my stock loom, would the 5+ VERF go to the TPS REFERENCE ? the tps reference states in the book its a 5V

This is what I got back from Matt Cramer.
Quote
If you are using the stock ECU, you can hook TPS Reference to either the MegaSquirt VREF or the corresponding pin on the stock ECU but not both.

The MS will not use the idle switch output, in case you were wondering.

Thanks,

Matt Cramer

Please include the previous messages in your reply. This will help me look up our conversation and get back to you sooner.

Now, he had mentioned you cannot have the 5+ VERF connected to both Ecus, so does that mean that the TPS signal/input has to be changed to a direct connection as well rather than teed in ? So basically have both TPS wires as direct connections to the MS2, not teed in just for signal ?

And this solves the dizzy questions about the CAS reference signal pins and CAS position signal pins.

Quote
Wire both to the stock ECU, split the reference signal (4 pulses per distributor revolution) between the stock ECU and MS pin 24.

Matt Cramer

Cheers SSS for all the help, even though some of them were slightly off. But I got there in the end.
