What?

They should all be the same...

It goes after your fuel rail - preferably close to the rail, this line would go to the inlet on the FPR, the outlet goes to the fuel tank return, the spare port should be fitted with a pressure gauge and plug in the engine pressure reference.

Done.

Setting the fuel pressure is another story, just set it to roughly 40psi by cranking the fuel pump (ECU) onto reds until its there to get you started, once done that - refer to your manual for proper setup. If it's for an aftermarket ECU with injectors, say ID1000's, set the injectors to 60psi and plug in the dead times for the given fuel pressure.

how did you go with this , i am about to do it soon.
chris, i am still tuneing, should i set the fpr @ 3 bar same as standard, and work on tune a bit more as duty still is ok, or just change the lot over at once. the reason i as is i think my standard is cactus, running real rich the stall, i would looking @ one down the track anyway.

Don't use FPR's to tune your car, EFI systems are not carby.

Get an ECU in it, set your FPR to suit injectors (some like higher pressure) then go tune it. Make sure the numpty who tunes the car tightens the bolt on the FPR after adjusting.

pedro, set the FPR to your factory fuel pressure.

Unless you are using injectors (like chris mentioned) that require a higher operating pressure, you have no need to unnecessarily raise fuel pressure when you can tune fuelling in the ecu.

It just increases the risks of fuel leaks from bad seals / seals not seating / perishing fuel hoses running higher fuel pressure.

i think the question initially came from pedro's thread. the way i understood what was initially written was that he was intending to run at 4bar instead of the stock 3bar, so i queried why he wanted to do this (i.e. was he purchasing a non adjustable 4bar fpr) and if that is what he was doing then it would affect the tune.

as per what the other guys have said, just use it to set the pressure for stock pressure. when you upgrade to the 550s adjust the pressure to suit.

i will also just put it out there that adjustable fuel pressure regulators are the biggest pain in the arse things around from my experience.

How do you even adjust a SARD adj FPR ? Is it the long threaded neck with the nut on it ? Here the breather line attaches to te top ?

Yes, you thread the adjustor in to raise pressure, and out to decrease pressure.

The hose fitting will be for a vacuum / boost hose, don't connect anything to it if you want to maintain the same fuel pressure at all engine loads and speeds. (you should not need to have variable fuel pressure ever, unless you cannot tune the ecu)

Does the standard Fpr on the rail remain also ?

Plus how many KPA should one of these be set to to run 440cc injectors ?

recap..
standard gets replaced with a separate adapler piece about $40. from there it connects to the reg.
it would say start at the 3 bar/43 psi with vac line off ,The FPR will rise 1:1 in accordance to the manifold pressure
from the FSM  es-222
FUEL PRESSURE (at idling) ,Unit: kPa (kg/cm2, psi)
IDLE SWITCH
(Measuring point: between fuel
filter and fuel pipe)
Vacuum hose is connected .....Approximately 226 (2.3, 33psi)
Vacuum hose is disconnected ......Approximately 294 (3.0, 43psi)

As little as $21 on eBay Pedro, that's the adaptor plus a screw in piece to connect your hose. Just type in Nissan fuel rail adaptor and take your pic of design.

I've known a few guys to buy those fake $40 SARD FPR and never have issues with them, they still work.

An I'm grabbing the same works engineering thingy too lol
