Spark Plugs and Dual Fuel
« on: May 4, 2010, 12:34AM »
hey guys. my car has a slight hesitation problem and i reckon it might have something to do with plugs/leads/coil/dizzy. cannot be bothered replacing them individually, im just getting new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor and ignition coil for $250. or somewhere near there it was... through work.

question is, i am going to go one range colder with my plugs to accomodate the LPG on my car. how will this affect its running on petrol? 99% of the time i put in premium 98 or higher, very rarely do i put in normal unleaded.

just wanting thoughts from those who are more cluey about the pros and cons...

You may find that one heat range colder plugs on petrol will make it misfire a little more at idle / low load; I found this on my petrol only u12 a while ago.

well i can live with that, if i can fix how it runs on gas ill be happy to run it on LPG 95% of the time, with the occasional squirt on petrol to keep things in working order...

today i ordered plugs, leads, dizzy cap, dizzy rotor, ignition coil and a PCV valve.

Plugs - NGK - ZFR6E-11 (ZFR5E-11 is recommended for petrol, but i want it to run nicer on gas hence colder plugs)
Leads - BOSCH - B4186i
Dizzy Cap - BOSCH - GH623
Dizzy Rotor - BOSCH - GH605-C
PCV Valve - FUELMISER - PCV-102
Coil - BOSCH - BIC322

Just for peoples future reference... Maybe we should post up a list of all the part numbers we know for our cars in one easy to find place? Just a thought... Although i understand how hard it must be to manage this as well as live your own personal lives lol!
