KA24E cam upgrades

so I got this spare cam shaft and set of rocker arms in the shed. Who has tried it? what profiles? and did you have to do the rocker arms too?
I'm thinking 270 in 270exh ..if anyone has any feedback that would be very helpful

too fkn small.

Go 300. If your porting and polishing.

Replace all the lifters to new or go solid lifters.

The rocker arms will be fine unless you plan on spinning its tits off (which with a stock bottom end i doubt right?)

Add a shim to the valve springs to give it some more pressure. Help up top slightly.

I've had it done, the profile on mine is 274 274 ... i think lol

The top of my cam caps had to be machined down by about 50thou as well if you use the hydraulic lifters

and if you are reusing 2nd hand rockers, have the lash pad that contacts the cam resurfaced so you won't prematurely wear out your freshly ground cam.

it really depends on what you're after.. rocker arms are forged items so i dont think even 'spinning its tits off' will break them.

for a standard motor with exhaust and intake, around 270 is good, it gives you power where you can use it.

300 is good but you need stiffer valve springs, i never went that path cause i couldnt locate stiffer valve springs, but i think now sss has found an american company that sells them.

you cant go much more lift than 0.45" from memory because otherwise you have issues with pistons and valves making sweet sweet pistony valve love.

dont listen to chris, he's just upset that he didnt listen to me when i told him he needed at least 305 degrees.

if you're going to turbo the car, or if it is turbo, 270 is plenty.

Yep I've taken that precaution already, I have a spare shaft and spare rocker arms ready to goto the shop I just wanna make sure I know what I'm talking about lol.

I think I'll settle for 270 at the moment. I'm at a stage where I dont wanna spend any money on cars but some fun is desirable If I'm feeling crazy in the future I'll go the full build, I have 2 spare motors available and free labour from a close friend.
