I need a decent auto box specialists qld
« on: Apr 26, 2008, 10:08AM »
hi i got a 90 trx 2.4 auto sedan ,the ive read quite a few stories on antrx about them stuffing up 1,2then not going into 3,4 unless you drive them like an old granny  >:( i took my car to get looked at a place in ipswich ,he took it for a test run and said(whilst rubbing his hands together)that it would cost two grand for a complete rebuild.so after that i enquired around some wreckers that want $400 for a second hand one ,but then after some thought come to conclusion that may be all it needs is a good service and adjusting of the bands to cure this gremlin in the box.is there some workshop out around between gatton and brisbane that do good quality work that wont try to rip you off? any leads would be great
(i have tourettes) fu$% it,shit,fu$%?shit?fu$%.

Adjusting "the Bands" wont repair your wasted transmission,Would an oil change fix a rod knock?I think not.Fresh ATF wont rebuild a transaxle either.

ok i biuld one about 3 months ago. 820 trade it cost me in parts alone. run a diagostic on the gearbox and let it tell you whats wrong with it. no cables required. i'll let you know any work you get done on it will cost a fair bit of money.. i have worked with these gear boxs a fair bit and they do take a bit of work to pull them apart, or to do any adjustment. these things neally has to be pulled apart for a service. so run test and see what you come up with

This used to be my old man's business before he sold it. Jeff knows his stuff and won't try to rip you off, but he does things properly so he isn't the cheapest around either.
