Oil Leak.
« on: Feb 10, 2008, 08:12PM »
I have just started losing oil in my U13. It appears to be coming from the drivers side of the motor. I am guessing its the crankshaft pulley seal as most of the oil is bottom side of the engine. There is oil everywhere on the underbody and around the side of the sump, but also all over the union on the side of the power steering pump. Is it a hard job to change it? What is involved? I had a quick look and it appears just loosen the belt and take the pulley off with a puller. I have just noticed as well a squeaky noise from one of the pulleys. As my hearing is not that flash I'm not sure exacltly where the noise is from. Is it likely to be an idler pulley? The waterpump is new and the alternater and air cond appear ok. How many hours is it likely to take to complete the seal change?
